what's your reasons behind small raise w 69o ~18-00 minute and KQo just before. If on second one I agree(KQ), but on first one pio prefers to raise big and this combo isn't there.
is that some kind of exploit of people underdefending vs x/r?

last hand of the video. River bluff is interesting, considering your hand have decent SD EV and as we all know bluffing should be better than 0 in order to be better play. Vs your turn size he probably shouldn't fold QJ/KJ and not go crazy w K8cc or any other 8cc cause deep. Question what is your bluffing range looks like and Jc bad blocker or not?

Hi Jeff, I agree in the 69o hand, a bigger XR serms better, and our hand wont fit there. Anyway, as you asked, I think many players overfold to xr, usually after betting small, and raising small with merged hands is a fine exploit against this imo.
KQo is easier I guess. Almost on any texture, when we face small sizings we need a bunch lf raise, as OOP and also as IP. In dry textures people struggles a lot to find the right calling frequencies, so against many players we can raise as a bluff more than optimal, and of course sometimes raise a hand like KQ, ehich is extremely strong in BvB.

In the KJo hand, it looks like Im overbluffing here pretty often if im not careful, I have like 8 value combos, so bluffing only Half of KJs/QJs should be enough. On the other hand, expect population to overfold a T quite often vs a triple barrel given how pool plays, so thats a point to bluff more than optimal.
I think habing a Jc is a bad blocker, because he might have a couple JcXc that we beat at this point

hey juan,
when you say a hand is mixed by raise or flat, how you make a decision of what to choose between the 2 options?

Juan Pastor 5 years, 10 months ago

Usually it depends on the oponnent.
Lets say I have a mix between calling and check-raising with some gutshot. If my oponent has a high fold va xr, I’ll raise. If my oponent is balanced, I might run a RnG. If my oponent underfold vs XR in not going to use this type of hands as a xr bluff.
The closer to GTO my oponent plays that soot, the most I want to play as a solver, and if necessary Ill use a rng.
The biggest is the deviation between how is my oponent approaching that spot in comparison with a solver, the most I give a shit about frequencies and I go for the explo option

Excellent video and format. Running hands through the replayer and doing analyses hand by hand allows for much better understanding. Would love to see more. Thank you.

Great Video and Thank You, The AA hand against Chaps at around the 6 minutes left in the video mark. Are you ever just flatting on the button there after being 3 Bet? Player shows strength with a 3 bet from the small blind but just curious
