Hey, so glad to see you back producing for RIO, Uri! I had already watched all of your videos -- all three of them -- and only wished there were more! People who also follow your YouTube channel will understand you haven't been lazy.
This newer video of yours has great value. It is true that, as you mentioned, opportunities for taking notes didn't come up as often as you'd wished, but you explained very well your note-taking philosophy and you rationale for taking them. And there were no downtimes since you provided so many good strategic advices along the way. Hopefully, this is the first one of a two or three part series.
I was thinking to keep going with the same player pool and see how the reads develop over time. I could make it one long recording and chop it up into several videos, or just several recordings.
Would you guys like that or prefer higher stakes? (the issue there is I already have fleshed out reads vs most players)
Yes, seeing you continuing with the same player pool would be nice. Hopefully, you can demonstrate practically how you are putting together matching puzzle pieces. But even if the opportunity for doing exactly that doesn't arise, because the same players don't alway show up or we don't very often butt heads with then in relevantly similar spots, it might still be extremely valuable just to hear you explain how, based on your past experience, you are usually fitting those specific kinds of puzzle pieces.
Uri Peleg I love the theme of the video. Locating these puzzle pieces as you put it are the key to be successful on sites that don't allow HUDs. I look forward to watching more vids!
The rake is higher but the playerpool is also softer - so it's a bit like playing lower stakes on another site in terms of rake/level.
My winrate pre-rakeback on ggnetwork playing mostly nl1k (7k hands higher and 1k hands lower) is 2.8evbb/100 over 64k hands - not a very meaningful sample. But the rakeback I received was pretty significant during this time.
Hello, I have a question.
How can I improve my notetaking game. For now I just writing some lines (mostly where I think it is far from theory/exploitable) and after try to combine them with each other and summarize opponent tendency. However it is impossible to do on the fly, so while playing I am able to only write notes about lines and after sessions can go over them deeply.
Try to play less tables than usual, and just practice it a lot. The more your focus is there, the easier it gets. It's a skill in poker just like any other.
I've never tried that type of software, but at least for starters I'd rather you do it manually, paying attention is an important skill, and just by taking the note your mind will store the information about the player for later
Looking forward to part two and how these pieces start to fit together.
I did note some of your weaker hands such at the 88 at the end you used a smaller 3 bet size MP vs EP going 2.2 to 6.6, where other hands you used more of a 8bb sizing. Is Uri Peleg 3 betting smaller with his weaker hands??? (I put 3 question marks because every time I get a confirmation I remove one question mark until they are all gone, then I put "!" for confirmation).
That makes a lot of sense actually. I didn't really think of how having a flatting range on the btn effects your 3 bet size. I knew about 3 betting larger vs EP / MP because they have tighter opening range and thus you are going to get called or 4 bet at a higher frequency. Makes sense since BB range is also polar and people always say BB is polar so should use larger BB 3 bet size. Just never connected the dots to button as well. Thanks for the feed back. Also was a long time subscriber to your youtube channel and since you became rio coach again, more of your videos pop up on my feed now. Watched the AKo video for Bryan Kenny today where he faces a cold 4 bet vs 98s and a 5 bet from KK. I agree pretty easy fold preflop here. People level themselves in high stakes some times I think. I would say guy with KK can rip A5s there some times, but that is the only bluff besides the range of QQ+ AK+, which you gave a 100% weight to just for best case scenario. Will have to watch more of these!
min 37 we take node that Villain has a donking range
How are you going to use that note?
For example, you get in a similar spot, and this time Villain checks to you, are you going to make any deviation, or is not enough information yet?
Each spot is different but in this specific one - these types of boards are actually correct to have donkbetting ranges on.
Most of the time I play assuming villain doesn't have them (so if I sim, I don't put in the donkbet option despite knowing it should happen).
Vs people who donkbet you actually get to cbet these boards a lot more aggressively than vs people who don't.
At 39:00 in the KT hand, I think even tho it's a spot where people might not know the exact gto sizing that doesn't nescessarily means they choose their sizing just based on what they want to acomplish with that hand especifically and still may think with range/overall strategy ?
Like for example you say he is likely to just bet big because thats how much his hand is worth, instead of sizing down to get called by high cards, but his reasoning could be something like: "I'm polar between TX+ or air and want to target Q high-A high hands, so its a polar vs bluffcatcher scenario, so its a big bet spot" kind of thing.
Just wondering how can we be careful with the assumptions we make about people's reasonings while still notetaking agressively... maybe just use the 3 questionmarks that RunItTw1ce suggested before in a spot like this, and remove as we confirm ?
Using question marks is good.
Ss you start paying attention to these things you'll also notice common tendencies/trends/player-types in regards to them. At nl500 ggnetwork, for example, there are not a lot of people who know to size correctly for their range.
So even though putting question marks here is good, I might start adjusting fairly fast because the playertype who sizes for his hand is a lot more common than the one who sizes for his range.

Thank you, really appreciate your unique approach to the game, definitely will enjoy more!
Hello man ,thanks for the video
I wonder rake is really high in those games what is your winrate at 1knl and 500nl on which sample ? Thanks

Okay, whats you opinion on software which can do ''autonotes'' (poker trackers(notecady etc)/hand2note)?
I've never tried that type of software, but at least for starters I'd rather you do it manually, paying attention is an important skill, and just by taking the note your mind will store the information about the player for later
we're not sitting in front of computers...I mean we are

Hah, I like that idea! I always 3bet the same size ip, roughly 3x the opener's size. Are you sure you saw me 3betting a different size?
Uri Peleg

Ahh that 3bet is from the button though, I 3bet bigger there, because I have a calling range so 3bet range is more polar.
