Tyler Forrester finds himself HU for the bulk of the video against a player with some serious leaks in his game and he looks to take advantage of these before he loses his action.

If someone is 3 betting 30%, why not just limp entire range?

Great question!

The only parts of my range that get hurt by his too aggressive 3-betting are the weakest parts. Actually all my 3-bet calls and 4-bets gain value when he's too aggressive. I think the better adjustment here is to fold 5-10% more on the button and keep taking the EV he is giving me when I get dealt better hands.

If I open-limp, then I'm changing the tree completely and I'm not guaranteed more money with the stronger parts of my range and I'm also not guaranteed that I lose less with the weakest, because I'm in an information vacuum. I'm not sure how is going to respond which means my limp 3-bet ranges will likely be wrong as well as my limp defends. It's a completely different game. If I can, I'd like to put myself in situations that I'm more familiar with and he is less familiar with and limping likely does the opposite of this

Mostly because playing HU vs a fish who is 3 betting far too wide and playing too aggressive in general is literally the ideal scenario - an absolute gin spot. I would never want to do anything to discourage his aggression or play smaller pots. Additionally, this type of player will usually instantly quit if you start to play a very boring, small ball type poker and start limping every hand. As Tyler said, the key is to fold a few more hands preflop as he won't even notice and will continue to 3 bet far too often. Also, be pretty sticky postflop, bluff catch a bit wider, and stack off lighter for value.

do you think recs are pretty weak in HU game in general? I've read some time ago that in HU they can have much higher lose rate than in 6max and in general that happens as well. So a lot of money to make and cant find better scenario in cash nl.

Video was nice but honestly would prefer 6max video or pt4 replayer which was quite beneficial, and suppose those far more popular among viewers as well.

Hi Jeff,

I think the key difference is the -30bb/100 that the fish loses goes to me exclusively rather than is split between 5 players. That's a great value add.

As to the video, I think my general split is roughly 80% replayer and theory videos and 20% live plays. As you point out, viewers generally like the replayer and theory videos more, so I maybe I'll move into a 90/10 split in the future.

By far the highest win rates than can be achieved are HU vs fish. Even if you don't have ton of experience HU, leaving a fish that wants to play HU is asinine and sabotage to your win rate.
