POSTED Aug 17, 2014

Tyler takes an exhaustive look in to a $5/$10 NLHE hand that he played in one of his previous video, exploring how his decisions build branches for future streets. This part focuses on the checking.

Good video

I appreciate you taking the time to build such a complex game tree. Given your apparent amenability to this type of analysis in the future I think it would be interesting for you to address how you might approach a given board texture with your entire range. For instance, how 88 might figure in to a broader flop betting or checking strategy that you have developed sb vs bb on this type of board texture as well as how that stately might work on subsequent streets. Obviously you cannot do it all in CREV in the same way, but I am sure any heuristic you use, such as choosing a specific type of board runout, would be good.

Hi P

Thanks! I appreciate you watching my video. It'll have to be a three betting or 4-bet call range on a specific board texture with varying rivers.   I'll have to think about how to structure it so its a manageable size.

Thanks for ur work, Tyler. Love ur videos.

I have one unrelated question, I remember a while ago u said that u play 800-1300h per year. I wanna ask how many hours u spend on theory per month roughly. Very curious what the ratio of  theory to actual play have some1 who work on his game as hard as u do.

Mostly playing at this point in my career. However, I tend to always be looking at poker hands while I'm watching TV at night, so that's where most of my theory time comes in.
