So interesting..... I have to take some time to study this but that was a very astute comment that a little math misunderstood will probably do more harm than good. Better to put some time aside to really devote myself to understanding it.The example where you decided to draw for the K I think was counter intuitive for me and based on my instincts I would have decided it was too "gambly" even though trying to take a safer path would probably result in being scooped without a much greater chance of getting there. Understanding these situations better will really help me win more instead of just treading water. I think I worry too much about fouling when I don't really have that many points at risk and try to salvage what I can. I worry about how devastating it is when you foul and your opponent has a powerhouse hand. Would have probably put a 5 in the middle and A in the bottom to try to just make 2 pair over 2 pair. Glad you got there!
Thank you for the very important 2 draw analysis. It does come up all the time.
Yeah good catch, I should def have mentioned the simul draw you mentioned. I think I discarded an ace earlier in the hand but even then your way MUCH better than two fives in the back and would have made the math an actual fair/close comparison. I was trying to show some math that illustrated the potential problems with two card direct draws, which don't exist in cleaner simul draws like the one you suggest.
