J4hh- i think a standard bet on the turn and an over bet on the river would do better. Its not like villains range is capped by checking the flop and also we do want to get value when we do have a hand.

jloo87 - I disagree that his range isn't capped by checking the flop. Yeah he can have TT, T9 and maybe very occasionally AT but I would be surprised if he showed up with A2/A9/22/99/AA with any kind of significant frequency. From a game theory standpoint against a range of {bluff catchers} our optimal line will include shoving river as it allows us to include as many bluffs as possible and the most effective way to do this is with a constant betsize (in this case 1.3x pot turn, 1.3x pot river).

JTo hand

If you are trying to fold chops or A high, than there is no value in raising Qx. But as a bluffraise vs bluff in a soft field it's probably good.

There is always value in raising a hand that is never behind. Our opponent must call with bluff catchers some % of the time to stop us from being able to bluff relentlessly. Also the more combos we have in our value range the more we can bluff with.

Very good video Stephen.

20:21 how thin would you value bet on the river with this sizing ? J7+ ? Interesting analysis and this spot I see myself checking a lot because he has more 4x on his preflop range than you but some of his playable 4x hands (54/42/74/K4) would bet flop and some raise pre (A4s). Given that I guess the probability distribution of 4x hands gets closer and I should bet more thinly with a smaller sizing. Doesn't his one pair hands usually plays better turning them into a bluff in this spot ?

Thank you.
