Stephen late-registers the $162 Trex on FullTilt. His stack is a roller coaster ride throughout the tournament which makes for a number of interesting situations

On the Q6o hand, you said OTR that you wouldn't jam A7o for value, why wouldn't you? (you said his range is mostly weak bluff catchers, so isn't it a pretty easy value jam with like Q7+)

I realize that your perceived value range otr might be 2p+ (as im sure you'd 3b 8's+ pre and should be perceived to), but that seems pretty unlikely unless villain is fairly bad.

Thus isn't their AJ call very standard, and shouldn't they always call with 88+ there. (although maybe they should call less often vs the 4.3k, depending on who is making it that sizing due to how often it is value)

Because there are plenty of 2pr hands in his range and he will presumably fold worse the majority of the time. We could have the best hand 99% of the time in a spot but if we think villain is only calling with the 1% that beats us we still can't value bet.

What 2pr hands are in his range? flopped 2 pairs are betting at least most of the time, as is 7x, and 53 and 34 prob fold pre.

I think 74, 54 and 43s all make sense given how he played the hand. He can also have 44 or a 6 himself and to be able to value bet A7 more than half of his calling range has to be 2nd pair or worse. I think that's overly optimistic.

I like the overall faster pace relative to your past videos (and peer's). I do like that you show every hand, including the hands you folded, so we get an idea of how often you pass/take spots that are close to you or might be perceived as close by a student. Although at times I felt I couldn't digest each decision point before the hand would be over. Take for example @ 33:00, jokerWSCOP opens HJ for 1600, renrad jams btn with ATo. Indeed, as you say, pretty std spot. But because the action went very fast, I didn't catch all of the action, maybe only 70-80%, so then I rewind which can be frustrating. I felt that way in a bunch of spots. I just selected that spot b/c I've stopped the video @ the 33m mark to write this.

I certainly don't know if others share my opinion, but I'd say take the replayer speed down one notch, or perhaps slow down whenever there's significant action.

Thanks for the feedback yoren. I totally agree with you and noticed myself missing some stuff at this speed too. I will try a slightly slower speed next time.

Hi, Stephen

The Q2s hand at 18', would you consider overbeting river there?

what is the last number in your hud first row?

Hi berbel, thanks for the questions. I don't think its a great spot to overbet river with Q2s just because I think his range overall is very weak after he checks back twice. I think by far our most likely chance of getting called is Kx since we can expect him to have bet Ax or a flush draw on the turn the vast majority of the time and I think Kx is far more likely to call a regular sized bet. For this reason I do like the spot to overbet bluff with my non-showdown hands. The stat on my hud you are referring to is fold to 3bet after raising.

You talked a little bit about latereg. early on. What would be your minimum stacksize you would want to latereg with antes in play. In the reentry tourneys where we basiclly can latereg to a 15bb stack Im curious where you would say your threshold for late regging is, or should be. (Good content as usual)

I think you just talking more would be an improvement... Talking about hands your not involved in and talking about hypothetical spots for a start

Hi Stephen, nice video.

In the AJo hand you put in HR 0.3 as comitted. Can you show me the math? cuz I was thinking it should be something like 0.47 since the pot is 2445 and your stack 5175

thanks

Stephen Chidwick 11 years, 2 months ago

Hey gauss, thanks for the comment.

It is my understanding that this means the threshold of your stack that has to be in the pot before it counts you as being all in. I can see scenarios where you could put in more than 30% and fold but they're few and far between.

In the Q6o hand, minute 38, what are we doing if we face a x/r on the river? I think by the line you choose our range most likely looks like KT KJ with spades, so he could be thinking about x/raising the river with Ax to get value from our bluffs bets cause he doesn't expect to be called too much often by worst, but he could also be bluffing... Great video and really enjoyed it! Ty

Hey Stevie, curious how nobody mentioned this hand yet, having trouble believing its standard. at 41 minutes you are r/c KJo bvb for 27bb eff

would you ever consider alternatively open ripping, limp/calling or even potentially limp/shoving in this spot..I feel KJo is a bit too weak in this spot to just r/c assuming there isnt much history, villain could also shove all sorts of A rags he may just fold to an open rip, how often are villains really 3b jamming hands we dominate here? would love to hear more about this
