POSTED Jun 24, 2022

thejericho2 starts this session building up 4 slots of regular tables at $5/$10 and $2.50/$5 maneuvering the action live while sharing his thoughts about the best lines including facing some wacky plays from recreational players.

any specific reason to make 99 a x/r rather than something like b70 on river at 5:45? Do suits matter at all? Really like your videos; live or post analysis doesn't matter to me keep them coming!

having two 9s blocks IP's rivered 9x (hands that would x back) so you end up unblocking more hands like top pair or second pair that would value bet when x to, or low card bluffs that will also bet (sometimes) when x to.

if you had a hand like QQ you would be much better to bet yourself, cos now you block his top pair value bets and don't block the x back range (which means IP will bet less often when x to). 99 has the opposite effect.

48:15 lets go!

Preferred seat bottom its much easier on the viewers eyes. Also do you lose track of whos in the hand some times? The action sequence covers the cards of some players. I would lose track in MW pots for sure. Then players cards covered during showdown can be annoying constantly having to check replayer to see what they had. Overall very solid video. You definitely put yourself in some tough spots defending BB wide or calling 4bets a bit wide with mixed hands.

Hey, thanks for the good feedback, I appreciate it!

I do sometime lose track of who's in the pot when I do a live play because it is quite hard for me to articulate my thoughts while I'm playing. I do end up having to focus harder to follow the action, especially at reg tables where you have to always keep an eye on the lobby. I'm not a great multitasker. That's why I don't do too many live plays, but I know how popular those videos are.

I'm used to this current StarsCaption set up, so I usually don't have any issues when I'm griding (any issues following the action). But I do agree that for the purpose of a live play video, it would be better suited to realign the set up in a more enjoyable setting for the viewer. The only thing I struggle w would be changing my seat at the table given that I've played my whole life in that seat lol.

For the next live play, I will do some changes to the set up.

Learned a lot from this video.

8:05 table 1 qt I wonder if these flop floats are things good players are doing that I am not and it is affecting my results. To me, we shouldn't float as we don't have great eq and we are oop. So often we call and xf turn when we miss which will be most of the time. If we do play it we should xr. But overall these spots are too marginal to me.

20:40 table 3 66 what should be the bottom of our continue rng there? 66 seems right on the edge.

21:25 table 1 89 it seems with a diamond we can xr, with 2 diamonds xr or xc, 2 hearts xr, but as is, it is a fold. Just seems too marginal.

33:20 table 1 we have the kk qq jj which he usually does not and we probably have more AT and we have the t blocker and not the best sdv. Would it be better to fire the turn and possibly the river as a bluff?

35:18 table 2 is aj a pure fold vs utg?

At $5-10 do you have a preflop flatting rng when not on the btn or does the rake still suck enough to 3bet or fold pre?

Thanks. Great video!

8:05 - We can mix all 3 options after having ran it into PIO. I agree that after reviewing it, x/r seems decent/better than calling.

20:40 - I'm not sure what the questions is here. I would only continue as 3bet or fold and vs UTG, 66 rng needs to be quite high to 3bet (would 3bet it 10-15%). The only pure 3bet that I have vs UTG as a pp would be TT.

21:25 - I agree w you, bad call from me here.

33:20 - I believe that we would be overbluffing if we ended up turning JT into a bluff in that spot.

35:18 - It is

Yeah, I don't flat anywhere besides Btn or BB. Might be good to develop one maybe at 5k.

Thanks for the kind words, happy that you liked the video :)

39:08 - Im a bit suprise you fold 89s in mp preflop. Im not sure about preflop ranges, trying to learn. Whats worse hand you open in mp?

RunItTw1ce 2 years, 6 months ago

98s-54s are all mixed low frequency. Depending on the table dynamics on whether people are playing 3bet or fold or having a cold calling range vs 2bets is greatly going to impact RFI ranges. For example you will see K5s opening before 76s because it blocks some of the 3 bet ranges. But if players are cold calling KJo then K5s won't do very well and 76s will do better. The less 3 betting going on the more often you can open these SCs. Other wise just have to stay tight in a 17-22% range from MP.
