Grezi12 years, 2 months agohey bryan. do you think its worth considering a checkraise with the a9 against k8 hand on i think 6796T it was. you simply say ye i made a bad call and thats it. i think it would be better for your videos overall if you would go into more detail on alternative lines. dont get me wrong but youre mostly retelling the action and in some spots i think youre to resultsoriented. but thats only my view, maybe others see it differently. anyway, decent video and i like the qq valuebet on the river.
Bryan Piccioli12 years, 2 months agoI was playing pretty crazy at that table. I just thought there was no way I'd get him to fold an 8 in that spot. I'd definitely have to put a really fat check/raise on the river for him to fold an 8, something like 160-175k. That guy was decent and I'm assuming he would expect me to barrel with all of my flushdraws on the turn.
Also I appreciate the constructive criticism. I am still quite new to making videos, but my next video is a live-sweat when I'm playing the last 4 tables of my Sunday session (the $200+R, late $100+R, and two $55's). It's a good balance between very soft and very reg-filled fields, and a lot going on. Have some interesting hands vs fellow Run It Once pros, too, so I think it should be an interesting video.
Thanks for the feedback.
David Emmons12 years, 2 months agoman your voice is so sexay. AT i like QQ turn bet bad 348 with k8 i would bet flop and turn and river as played. jq float and double lead was awesome. good vid
Bryan Piccioli12 years, 2 months agoThanks Dave. Yeah the QQ was bad, just a little bit too optimistic of a line. K8 is for sure a bet on the flop, you're right. Too many bad turns. QJ float was nice. I don't take lines like that too often, especially vs regs who don't like folding, but the 9 turn was perfect to do it on and I can usually get nice value on any 8, J, Q, or K river vs most of his range. Not KK though, obviously :)Tom M12 years, 2 months agoGreat comments. I was thinking the same on the K8 hand. It doesn't really fit the criteria of reverse implied odds, but it's too susceptible of a top pair to get tricky in my opinion. I usually don't do it with a top pair less than a Jack but maybe that's a bit too nitty in a vacuum? Agree the JQ hand vs Joey Capp was really nice. Such a perfect run out to make take this line with.
In the hand with QT you fire the turn to set up a river bluff and then balk when you river 3rd pair. I would have liked if you had talked about specific hands that you expect him to call a turn bet with and then fold to a river shove... As I was watching I assumed it was specifically designed to make him call turn with 2nd pair (jacks) and let it go on the river. I was very confused when you decided to check back after you river the T because it really doesn't change anything.
Bryan Piccioli12 years, 2 months agoYou're exactly right. I think I did mention that in the video, about how the 10 doesn't change much. I guess I was just hoping he had a hand like 77, 88, or 99 that he decided to check/call the turn with. Those are pretty much the only hands that I'd beat after checking back.
Thanks for the feedback.
Ozzy11 years, 10 months ago@27:00 Would be great to see some math behind this call, because I'm pretty sure it's just awful. You would have to create some ridiculous range for him to justify your call. Of course, you're rarely dominated, but you're getting beat by his Ax-heavy and pockets-heavy range.
Apart from that, great video, it's a shame ur not recording anymore :(
minute 10, we overcall with 77 in position. The flop comes AKT with a 2-flush and it is checked to us in position. We bet, because we almost always bet when checked to us in position multiway. This seems like a wet flop that hits opponents, and I do not like betting it with air. In fact on first caller was slow playing a set.
