one note on the second hand around 9minute mark (QdQc) on the flop: I dont know why im talking about pot controll here that does not make any sense on the flop, of course we have a very strong hand for that situation with 2:1 stack to pot ratio and checking back for pot controll makes no sense. I think we should actually clearly bet here and i just made a mistake in game and also in the review in hindsight for some reason.
The only argument for checking back in that spot is to underrepresent our hand strength, and this is too fancy of a play given monotone board and low stack to pot ratio combined. Thats why i think check back is a clear mistake
The QQ and the Aq for sure, 99 depends on the context. The problem is they were all really bad jokes, because if you go ahead and try to explain them afterwards, they aren't even really funny
regarding the 99, i ran it with monker solver ranges in pio, 99 is in fact 0% call and always a raise vs that sizing. No joke. Our cbet sizing should mostly be smaller but given that 66% option it still takes that sizing some of the time.
Its not perfect, as I did use the appropriate flatcalling range for a multi way pot for the bb, however then on flop it's still simulating a heads up pot just with bb tighter ranges. I really doubt that with one more player this scenario will dramatically change though given that its a 100% 3bet with 99 vs a reraise here
Anyone who leaves a comment like that is clearl a loser. Really love your content. Just the way you think about the game is super refreshing. Keep it up!
Hi, thank you. That gives me the opportunity to address something i wanted to address for quite some time now. And I do it now because I know you are surely also a great tournament player just purely judging based on results and you are well connected in the community and known to others. And I do respect you as a player.
I just had a discussion with a friend yesterday about the level of ego in poker and its enormous. People who already had lots of success, instead of being grateful and conclusively respectful to others, feel the need to attack their colleagues and talk down on them. And this away from the tables where emotions should not play a roll, so it's a calculated act.
You could have come here and said "hey man, I think the way you played .... is wrong because....", or you could have come here and said "sorry man, but I think you messed up alot of the hands/analysis in this particular video" but instead you simply make a personal attack. And that as an established player. Why do you do that? It is obvious. And you can come with all the justifications you want, you don't fool anyone, you want to feel superior to boost your ego. It's as simple as that.
I don't know where you are in you life. We have both been playing tournament poker for long. And I have a family to take care of by now, my worries dont evolve around convincing others that I am the best. I just care about the results of my games and that's it. And with a family even more so than before comes a deeper understanding of how essential it is to be respectful to other human beings. The more so ridiculous this poker industry looks to me, by that I mean the players in the public light and the certain cliques and groups of poker players.
And I have seen the Ryan Laplant video by the way, not even so long ago funnily enough and I saw you and others commenting on it. And I had the same thoughts already that im describing to you now, I just didnt wanna beat a dead horse.
So what happened this video? I was thinking myself I must have been in quite some bad emotional state when I played this game and for some reason or another didnt recognize it as much when I was doing the analysis on this. Probably because it was during time of tons of stress for myself in life dealing with government bureaucracy bs, just having bought a house, having construction work going on where I was helping out during the day after playing at night, bringing my son to daycare and picking him up somewhere in between and being on a downswing all simultaneously. Happens. I would say to all of us. Maybe you are perfect and you never have days where you are playing badly or D game, kudos to you then. I havent watched the elliot roe masterclass yet, gonna catch up maybe eventually.
Im sorry but the level of ego and all the attacks in poker are just boring and childish to me nothing more. I would never feel the need to come to a video I dont like and bash the player on there, just because i know others will recognize my name and I can feel great about myself. You should be ashamed of yourself. Because it looks like you always happen so to watch those videos that are terrible and make comments. If you don't respect the players of the videos that you are watching, Im wondering: Why do you watch them in the first place? I just cant help but think you must be unhappy with yourself in real life. Because it just doesn't make sense otherwise.
Oh and ego wise, just like every successful player I do think Im one of the best mtt players, better than you, etc etc. Every one of the top regs in the world can attack me it won't change a thing about that. And I believe that's necessary and healthy ego. I just don't go around trying to make sure everyone knows.
I apologize for attacking you personally, I am just annoyed that this kind of content makes it do the site, apparantly without anyone doing any kind of quality control. Calling it 'elite content' and letting people pay 100$/month for this is just not done imo. When you get paid to make video's you should be expecting to get some critisism. Maybe if you are under a lot of stress that is not the best time to be making publicly available videos?
Thanks for the free psych evaluation. Best of luck in the future.

Appreciate that VicBiggs, hope you are doing well
Congratulations, you made a video that is worse than Ryan Laplant's videos... Elite stuff!

Couldn’t have given constructive criticism privately? Very mature
