POSTED May 06, 2022

Stoyan Obreshkov attempts to help prepare for upcoming SCOOP events with a review of a deep run he recently made in the $500 Phase tournament. Beginning with 10BB's, he recounts the key hands and occasionally turns to the solver to check if his in-game assumptions were correct.

Good anaysis. Appreciate all the preflop sims.

16:55 is opponents t9 the best to barrel? He blocks some of our fold rng like kt, qt, 9t, j9 as well as our back door spade floats. Then again spr is very low so perhaps we don't have all of those hands.
Deeper I wonder how good it is to barrel?

22:50 it shows the ax and jt we do raise is with clubs and not with the bdfd. Why is that?

Thanks!

16:55 Q7o
We do have all KT QT 9T J9 combos, I dont see any reason to jam pre against this position.
In general his strategy should be to barrel hard having a big range advantage.
T9 is a decent bluff candidate at all stack depths, much better than KJ and KT because those block his folding range with both cards.
Deep stacked we will see a lot of turn barreling from 22-55, K5-K7, 65s 76s 97s because of PFR equity advantage.

22:50 JTo
We raise more with the backdoor combo because we unblock continuing range.
For example, he is supposed to continue with K8 with a backdoor and fold without a backdoor to the c/r.
