prefer betting the A9 on AJ98 when he didnt CB - you said you don't want to get raised but if you are raised your equity is poor vs his value range anyway and can easily fold (plus he won't bluff raise much since you can also have the straight and his blockers usually come with the straight) - and we need strict value and protection vs all his pair + FD etc

Hi 00oasis00,

Valid points. Definately betting the turn is also a decent option. I think this actual hand goes well for "mixed" category here on turn, bet some % and C/C some %. We need some check calls aswell and i think this is very good hand to do it with..

40:00 Wouldn't it be cool to sometimes c/r pot the river having a blocker to nut straight-flush.

Janne Juutilainen 10 years, 3 months ago

Hi oboltys88,

It would be cool alright, and might be very efficient in correct spot and agaisnt correct opponent. In this hand we only hold the Qh which isnt the best blocker, so wouldnt advice doing it here...

very nice vid. i have a question about the hand sb vs bb KK29r min 21. isn´t the turn call with you're actually holding marginal? i guess u would fold every clubs, diamonds and some str8hitting cards otr if he bets it or? (because i would not expect he is betting diamonds otr so light because its a part of your calling range). Would u donk bluff sometimes diamonds otr?

Ty mnl1337,

Yes the KK29r is very marginal spot and pretty much the absolut bottom of my continuing range in the spot. Like said in the vid, there are tons of better hands to call the turn with, and against some this might be a fold on turn. Rivers play poorly on for me in this situation, but i do also think that river will check through decent amount of times.

Do you mean that we donk diamonds to rep flush on river? This is imo very problematic on a paired board, very hard to balance... but if one can develop a good balance strategy for these sort of spot i think i might work very well, since its a weird line in todays standards and many ppl react poorly to very weird lines.

min 37 QQKJccc would u donk if the pot was hu instead of c/c? or do u like the c/c more because we know how to play lot of turns and dont want to get raised when donking

This is pretty much it. Also the board texture hits both ranges pretty well, so i think checking is the stantard way to start here.

ty for u reply :-)

"Do you mean that we donk diamonds to rep flush on river? This is imo very problematic on a paired board, very hard to balance... "

yes, that was what i´m thinking about. like u said its kind of weird to donk otr but could work if we balance this
