Thanks for doing all of this work Jen.....need to go through this with pen and paper to really understand it. Very challenging

19:28 How do you get the 76.8% number for the "either"?

Jen Shahade 8 years, 10 months ago

hey there! So when calculating whether EITHER a six outer or a four outer will come in, that is a ten outer. Since we are in position, there are 27 unseen cards, so our chances of NOT hitting the ten outer are: 17/27 (on the first card) * 16/26 (2nd card) * 15/25 (3rd card)= .23 1-.23= .77

I went over that math in a very early video and then just stopped doing it in most subsequent ones because it's time-consuming. I recommend memorizing the probabilities that come up most often. Though it doesn't hurt to review the breakdown once in a while in case you need the math for some other game or variant.

thank you. I will check out your earlier videos to find that math.

1) Do you plan on playing any of the OFC cash games @ WSOP this year?
2) I am going to upload to the other>OFC thread several screenshots of some reg pineapple spots I wasn't sure about. Any input is GREATLY appreciated.

thanks again Jen!
