Nuno Alvarez aka ColorDeFlop completes his study routine with a simple GTO Trainer to improve your strategy on ace high flops switching to the OOP perspective. Building on the findings that the opponent should be betting small on the flop, he follows up with frequent turn overbets where we face tough situations.

Hi I like the format, thx for the work put in. A suggestion, maybe u can examine the dynamic of two broadways or two middling cards OOP in future videos.

Hi man, thanks, glad you liked it.

I'm not producing more content at the moment but will have your suggestion on mind in case I end up making more videos.

Always great videos! I feel like I should've known better about the T8 hand where if you have a club its better for the check raise because opponents range is stronger since you block a club. I need to use that information more in my own sessions.

Hey TJ, thanks, glad to hear you enjoy my content.

Yeah, I think this type of things are not increasing a lot our EV while playing but they still very good concepts to try to understand and apply correctly in order to be better players in the long run.

Hi nuno,
At 5:55 why are we bluffing the turn with J5,J4,J3( if anything we are blocking some of his weaker straight draws which would fold the turn to an overbet). Is it because we will be following through on the rivers which complete those straight draws, and K, J or 10 river?

Nuno Alvarez 6 years, 5 months ago

Yes, you got it. Those hands perform quite well on plenty of rivers and that's why we bluff them on the turn rather than choosing lower cards.

Hi nuno, was rewatching these videos again. At 12:39, 10d 6s is being used as an overbet more often that 10d6h? Doesn't 6 of spades block his flop c-bets that giveup the turn? And thus a less effective bluff that 10d6h? or is there something else that i might be overlooking. Also why is having 8 or a 10 so important to bluff? If we are looking to block the 10-8, shouldn't having 10d or 8d be irrelevant as they are generally a part of villian's double barreling range. Thanks :)
Also at 29:01, how are our blockers affecting our bluffing frequency with different combos of J5? Can't make much sense out of it.

Agree on your reasoning. Not sure why Td 6s gets used more often. I recommend you to not be that picky when it comes to these very little things because they usually have zero impact on your game and look for an answer to them is very often just a waste of time (has happened to me a lot before)

Having an 8 or a T is important not to block T8 combos but to block the best bluffcatchers that are going to be the ones containing an 8 or a T.

29:01

Having the Jd is better than having the 5d because you wanna block the J high FDs that are going to continue but you wanna unblock 5 high FDs that are going to be part of the folding region.

Hi nuno,
At 5:34, why is js4s preferred over jh4h while jh5h i s preferred over js5s , which I guess makes sense ?

Nuno Alvarez 6 years, 4 months ago

This is a completely insignificant difference between those combos. I recommend you to not be that picky with this super small things that have literally zero impact in your game!
