Great video. I enjoyed your thought process regarding the different hands. It shows me how to think about the whole strategy for different streets and act according to my range.
@15:36 Wow is right. How does he call with a five here? Should he ever call with a five in this spot?
@30:30: This line from villain is almost exclusively the nuts on a board like this. I've gotten stung by it just recently. You want to call in certain spots but if he convincingly sells the nuts to you it's because he probably has them.
I like the more intimate, slow analysis of individual hands here. It's not overwhelming but it's not total beginner, either. Perfect for Essential.
In the video you faced twice where people over calling 3b IP preflop.
You said we should size up + 3b less. I totally agree with that and have some questions in detail —-
How big of a size adjustment will you make?
And more importantly how will you adjustment your flop cbetting strategy? My guess is that vs wider range + overcalling tendencies we can do some exploitative sizing up OTF without increase our cbetting frequency?
I wouldn't go much bigger. Because at a certain size people will start folding more. I would start with 1bb more than normal and then keep adding 0.5bb if after a decent amount of hands I would notice they still overcall.
I don't think sizing up with same range would be correct. When they get to the flop with too wide a range they tend to need to fold more. If we size up they theoretically get to fold more. So sizing up actually fixes their mistake.
I would bluff more, especially double barrels. But keep the same sizing.
I want to sizing up with same range because I feel their overcall tendencies will be carried to the flop -- so they tend to peel a lot of marginal hands OTF which makes our value hand gain more.
Do you think in general people just overcalling preflop? Thank you!
KJs is a 4bet against a solid 3bet range as a bluff. If I recall correctly it is a mix. So either fold and 4bet is 0EV.
Population doesn't 3bet bluff enough. Which means our 4bet gets less folds than normal. So the EV of 4bet bluffing drops. Which now makes it lower than just folding.

Your value hands might gain more. Not sure about the bluffs though. So I would do it less often with bluffs then.
When people have money invested already they tend to overcall yes.
23:15 you mentioned KJs here in theory is a 4b candidate but in practice you wouldn’t do it. What’s the reason behind this exploit adjustment?
