POSTED May 13, 2018

Chris Pimmer explores the secrets of learning, a topic he feels very passionate about. His dedication to studying a multitude of topics through the years has allowed him to build a wealth of knowledge on how to most effectively learn. Topics include why sleep might be just as important as doing the work, how mixing study spots can outperform block learning and what distinguishes a fool, an intermediate scholar and an expert student.

that's a tough one, can't think of anyone. young afro kobe pops in mind. haha:))

That's why I use Kobe, because the 8 pops up often in life... even in poker, 8 can be a mamba doing whatever. or Kobe... but a 24 does not go as a card or a playable hand, so I use the 8 for kobe, for frequency if that makes any sense

I tried the movie idea you mentioned at the end. Very cool idea. Not sure what your friend did, but I used Chinese movies for Clubs, Drama for Diamonds, Romance movies for Hearts, and Science Fiction for Spades.

So for Jack of Spades a scene from Jumper.

I think any subject or area you know deeply will work.

Awesome video. Good insight on interleaved learning - I've mostly used the block study method. I'd imagine the increased "stress" of forcing the brain to solve different problems is why you get better results. My tendency was to study 30 3bet pots in a row then 30 single raised pots. I'll try alternating between them and see if I notice better efficiency.

Thank you Mr. Pimmer!

Awesome, thank you! Please let me know about your findings, but remember it takes some time before you will see the real change. In the Interleaved learning, students appeared to learn slower in the short term
