7: 00 Why is flatting kQo the worst Option?

ChadBroChill 5 years, 7 months ago

Typically because the villain's open range is too tight to make calling KQo profitable, however KQ works well in a bluff 3 bet range at some frequency blocking a K and Q.

I don't understand either why 3bet > fold > flat KQo in this spot. I would definitely mix 3bet and call but never fold it. ChadBroChill You say range of the opener is too tight well I believe Low Jack will raise around 25% so including all his offsuit broadways, its not that tight .

I would have think the argument of 3bet would be more about the range behind us to avoid multiway action. What are your thoughts? Sam Greenwood

Flatting is the worst option because your hand is not strong enough to defense against squeeze and sometimes you'll be OOP against one or two players playing 100 blinds deep with a hand that almost never flops close to the nuts.
3bets is fine besides your oponent can folds his hand, you'll be playing HU most of the time IP with a hand that flops top pair with a good kicker.

great vid. at 15min, you think j8 cant bet larger than block, its block or chk?
and at 37min with 65, on jt7cc4c, what hand do you expect to fold when you block?

30min AdJx 79Kddd. Sam mentions that we prefer c/r w Ad2x-Ad6x and that Ad7x is perhaps the worst to one to choose. We are simply likelier to get folds by opponents cards that are lower than the board. Is that it?
