Great video Ryan.

At 11:30 you flat qq vs 14bb stack to trap then you flat call flop and turn bets on a low board. I do understand trapping but I also find it can make the hand difficult to play. If flop is axx or kxx, or as played on low flop if turn or river was an a or k are you still calling down?

At 28:20 with 77 you call a 3bet pre and xf kxx flop. If flop is all low cards are you xr jamming? I think it makes the hand too hard to play as a xc on a low flop as you will get bluffed out on bway turns or rivers. I think the call pre just sets us up for difficult post flop spots given the spr and being oop.

Thanks.

Thanks Soundspeed good to see you enjoyed it :).

11:30: The flop can go either way as a raise or a flat. Preflop I would mostly be looking to flat in this situation with QQ. I would be more inclined to call down on an A as we block some of their strong Ax, but also they should be less incentivised to bet A high on the flop and to barrel it off on a K turn, where its more likely they bet Kx on the flop and will barrel these hands on the turn. But for the most part I would consider my range and how far up in my range I am, what does villains range look like and how does my range compare to theirs and is this a situation villain is likely to be under/over bluffing and will make my decision.

28:20: While I am not particularly happy with flatting 77 vs the 3bet at this stack depth, I do think it is the most profitable way to play the hand. Generally players under 3bet preflop and are more likely to be weighted towards AK. For the most part I would be check shoving 77 on a low flop to deny equity.

Great vid !

Min : 34:16, you said ; MP should have big bet or check ... Why not a 1/3 or 1/2 bet ?

Glad to enjoyed it. Ah my mistake at this stack depth MP can get away with a 25% pot bet. When deeper you will see more checking a lot of over betting on this board texture.

Hi Ryan, Thanks for the series and I really like your hand breakdowns.

I was just wondering about the hand at 11:30 with QQ vs the known fish (as we saw from the hand before he was flatting A2s on 10BB without a plan). In your explanation you discuss flatting on that stack depth for various reasons with your AA,KK,QQ.

I believe you are overlooking the fact that opener is a fish and will call a min 3B. Although it would be unconventional to play it in this way I think it is most profitable. Yes we may not get to play a huge pot, but the benefit of ISOing the fish are many.

Even on flop and turn I am min betting his 2B. What do you think of a min 3B pre flop, on the flop, or on the turn? Im pretty sure they all print against this opponent and not just with his specific hand.

11:30 hand: At this stack depth I think flatting is the best play. Lets consider that I did min 3bet, I think that it is much more likely that the blinds will be 4betting much tighter, who we are deeper with. Sure we can isolate the weaker player, but we are also in position vs the blinds and if we are a stronger player we would want to go post flop IP with them more often.

My thoughts on the preflop 3bet is that we shouldn't be doing it, I think that on the flop that min 3betting is certainly a line we could take, on the turn I prefer calling as villains range doesn't actually have very much equity vs our holding and I can see them folding their bluffs vs a min raise, but I can also see them continue bluffing when they miss on the river.
