love the idea of jam pre w j10ss especially in KO, we get aq to prob fold aswell as alot of stuff that dominates us, plus if HJ is rec and his range wider jam going to be v good i think.
would be fine folding flop j10ss especially with ICM and vs what should be tight betting range and a large sizing. the 'bluffs' prob have alot of equity, plus wouldnt rule out utg player at all who still going to have some jams.. did not expect 44 though haha
k10 think blocking nice on turn, our 10 blocks some bluff and he prob just has ton of ace highs, not many hands to bet turn thats worse,
the k5o v interesting, the a3 should just jam pre i think, and alot of the gutters should fold pre too, folding out 5x and underpairs seems good, on 10 too stuff he beats prob wont check river
Hey buddy, thanks so much for the message and welcome to the team (sorry a little late, I generally only check messages when I upload videos).
Yes, I agree the first hand would be higher EV in a bounty, covering two players, compared to a "vanilla" tournament.
I agree, I would be inclined to fold top pair without backup equity, but with the JTss with the backdoor straight I did think it was fairly close, but would call and proceed with caution on the turn/river. I too didn't expect to see 44 lol.
KT, I agree blocking is completely reasonable, but I think this hand can go either way, but agree having a ten does interact a bunch with his turn bluffs.
Thanks again for the feedback, and will check out one of your videos!
The first hand with tjs you said for chip ev you would squeeze then call a jam from either utg or mp who were both sitting at just over 30bb. This seems really loose and very high variance. To me I would rather call and take a flop, or as you said with icm if btn were shorter we could just squeeze jam.
Firstly I will say I don't have preflop charts for four way spots, but I do have 3way and I think the idea's learned there can translate fairly well to 4 way.
At 30bb ChipEV, LJ open with CO flat JTs from the BB should be a pure shove. I ran it in ICMizer earlier today and its making ~50bb/100 with the ranges I inputted and that is if they're calling nash, which I think population are slightly overfolding, which makes the shove better. It is going to be very difficult to out perform the EV flatting/EV shoving in this situation, unless our opponents play very very poorly post flop. Now if button overcalled this spot with 30bb eff then it makes shoving JTs better, folding out more dominated hands, but also its not a great scenario playing OOP 4 way.
At 50bb ChipEv, LJ open with CO flat JTs from the BB is a 3bet not all in ~75% of the time as it folds out a tonne of hands that dominate it, as well as having reasonable equity vs the calling range. Again you can see the increased appeal of 3betting when the button also flats in this situation and I wouldn't be surprised to see JTs squeezing pure in this situation.
In the hand from the video when we squeeze we fold out a lot of hands that dominate JTs, but when our opponents 4bet shoves off 30bb effective we are now getting a profitable price to call with JTs. On reflection if this situation was ChipEv I think that squeeze shoving, even being 50bb effective with the button, will be the best play. EVshove>EVsqueeze>EVcall>EVfold. Sure it is higher varience, but also the best way to play the hand. Given there is ICM players ranges preflop should be much tighter, making JTs not so great as a Shove/Squeeze call and better as a flat.

Great series Ryan and congrats on the victory.

Thanks mate, only a baby win, but I'll take it.
