Ryan Henry aka unconquer3d picks up where he left off and breaks down the action holding a middling stack and looking to take advantage of some of the obvious weaker players at the table.

Great series Ryan!

17:30 It's always interesting to watch high level players construct villain ranges in these close spots. Tweaking the T9s + J9s reinforces the notion that its just as much an art as a science.

I'm looking forward to the next video!

Thanks mate, glad you're enjoying the content so far. It's amazing how drastically the EV of hands can change when you slightly tweak your opponents opening range and the range that they're calling a 3bet shove. It's really important to try to work out roughly what your opponent is doing because of this to make the most optimal decision.

Really Great video. I want ti sakè you wich function of hrc u use to’ solve the spot so basic or advanced or advanced Montecarlo..? Do you use sometimes allo hrc beta? And if u use what do you think about it

Ryan Henry 2 years, 5 months ago

Thanks mate. I use mostly montecarlo on HRC beta, but this can take a long time to solve. Because of this sometimes I will use advance or basic if I want an idea of how the spot looks like (much more quickly to run). Basic is used when calculating an all in spot and advanced would more be used if looking at a raise not all in or a flat or a 3bet ect.

Hi Ryan,
First hand with 10bb I have not implemented a non all in open rng at this stack depth. Do you think it is better to have one? Is 10bb as low as you go for this?

Gtowiz uses a limp or jam strategy and I see a lot more players using limps sub 20bb.

Thanks!

Thanks buddy,

We absolutely want a non all in open range at 10bb, especially with ICM as we're not just playing for chip so can even have a raise fold range at ~7BB. If you run some preflop spots through HRC you will see a lot of our range wants to split to min raise or shove at shallow stack depths as min raising some hands at 10bb will have a much higher EV (AA as a clear example). I imagine if I allow a limp we would see this is some situations (meaning higher EV in some spots), but I think it would be very very difficult to balance this correctly preflop especially when there are ICM changes throughout the tournament and then post flop would be different you would need to run a lot of specific limped preflop sims (most likely see it going 3 way more often, being more complex and more difficult to get correct), which I think if done correctly is likely to have higher EV, but I don't think the time spent perfecting this strategy will be would the EV gain and this time spent is likely much better spent elsewhere.

really good stuff. One thing i would mention is maybe strip out a few HRC sims, a bit too many. would rather hear ur thought process on the hands and makes the review flow a little bit better. Just my opinion tho

Cheers glad you're enjoying the content. Thanks for your suggestion I will keep that in mind for future videos, although I do think its important to have some sims in there especially for close situations, but perhaps you're right and I have too many in.
