Hi Pedro, don't you think that at 27:20 it is a good idea to bet small? Maybe 1/4 pot. I think sometimes we are going to get called by a K or better but when that does happen we likely get a free showdown and our hand also benefits from charging hands like 99,1010, AJ, Q10, J10 that can improve on the river if given a free card?

but then maybe we open ourselves up to being raised if it's that small of a bet?

Would like to hear your thoughts and as always great content.

I think its very unlikely we are going to get called by worse and as you said there's algo a chance we get raised, so as we do not want to bet small with any part of our good hands, it will be to hard to balance it therefore too easy to get exploited.

Oh man that first hand was something else... I remember I thought his line didnt make any sense and wasnt repping anything. Fortunately I ve stopped calling based on that. Thanks a lot for reviewing my HH Pedro great stuff!

15:40 ATo 3way pot. I thought that was a mandatory x OTF with T or lower kicker especially without a club. I think in low stakes people flat AJ/AQ really really often even really deep-stacked. Would you still like the bet if I was MP and CO and BB were the flatters? Do you think I should be more flexible depending on the ranges or just play it as any multiway pot in lower stakes?

Pedro Madeira 6 years, 1 month ago

I agree they will flat AQ/AJ but at the same time whey will flat all Ax and Kx, so as you can see, our hand has value to bet that flop vs that range:

And yes, I would still bet vs CO+BB and in general try to think of their whole ranges before deciding whether to check or bet

17:29 I was under the impression that if there is ~15% of the effective BB in the pot I can just shove. Is that wrong? I dont see micro/low stakes players 5betting AT or AJ there almost never. Also do we have no problem with a hand like ATs, AJs seeing a flop for that price?

I like the idea to give players room to make mistakes, so when you shove it's very easy for them to decide on a calling range, wheter by 4 betting they can make more mistakes either by calling or shoving the wrong range.
Besides, you want to have some 4bet bluffing range, and you do not want to go allin with that.
