I'm glad there's some series of non-tactical poker. I think many players underestimate the impact of the mental game and just study strategy relentless. The issue is that, even if you got a perfect strategy it won't help you if you can actualize properly.
Regarding cooldown routine, I have a AHK script that helps me a lot. Our mind is very tricky and having a little help is great at least for me. Basically, my script recognize when the session is over and it start my cool down routine. This avoids relying on my mind when the shit hits the fan
I totally agree with you, some things are very well left to other parties like an AHK, I often recommend the use of a time tracking software, to know where your time is going, so that you can understand what you are using your time for. This AHK seems like an absolutely amazing tool.
If you can automate some things it will also improve your performance overall, since less energy is spent. Thanks for the idea and comment !

Yes. the idea behind a script is to reduce energy spent. Personally, sometiems I feel overwhelmed by all teh thigns I got do to in a day and having a routine that I gotta follow steps by steps let me avoid thinking: "What I should do next?"
Chris Pimmer What time tracking software do you usually recommend? I ve looked but havent found anything that looked all that great. I m an expert at punting my day away so this would be of great help lol.
Completely agree with you Wallmonger, from my personnal experience I've always thought meditation was some kind of BS, but since I discovered it I realized that I was always playing B-C game not even noticing it. Mental is such a big part of being good at poker and being able to improve.
WM2K RESCUE TIME
It is a free windows and probably mac software that also has a paid version. I have used both and currently am back to the free version. If you use it, I would suggest make time maybe twice a month to analyze the data, go through everything. Also set it up in a good way, as you can have watching youtube labeled as productive time. What I did for example, I have set up RIO as a productive website, same as google sheets but most others are not. Some other sites are maybe neutral, but overall, unproductive,
The set up does not have to be perfect, as long as you are willing to adjust regularly, this way you will reach a great set up sooner. Work with it, let me know how it goes and what your parameters are, maybe they can help others or me as well!
I think it can. ASMR, what is that?
What I would suggest are 2 things.
1) Do your calm down in a place where you did not play poker, even if it means going for a walk (which can be great by itself).
2) Experiment with things that work and don't work, write them down, give each thing a few days and then compare what was better and keep what worked.
We often underestimate things, because they don't bring us that magic pill, but often, if done consistently we will get a great deal out of them, just wait and be consistent.
This is also why a simple routine is important, as soon as you overload, you will do it for a week and then leave it be for eternity. a 3 minute thing that is done at all times is better than a 15 minute "perfect" routine that is done only for 1 week.

Nice vid. Do you think calm music or ASMR can help to cool down a bit after session?
