I’m not only proud for the 78o hand but for the whole video! I really enjoyed your analysis and I’m happy to hear that you got value from watching my content as well as Antonio’s :)
Think it's not so clear whether the clubs make good bluffs because u do block some calls like Axcc. I guess lower clubs would be better than higher ones since my preflop calling range is missing the bigger suited aces.
Nice vid, still not sure about first hand (donking turn), usually on flushing card in 6 max not much donking going on in many scenarios. Even when it is high equity card for our range we still play as x/call mostly, I can see same logic being applied here because we still x/R flop aggressively with FDs. Maybe donking like 10%/1bb is fine ~ equal EV
However I don't follow logic behind '' it is too strong to be check-folding on the turn, so we can donk bet it instead'', seems exploitative thinking to me. And nothing wrong with folding when villain is like checking more than 50% on the turn.
You're right, I just reran the sim with a 33% donk option OTT, and it barely gets used even on Ks/Ko when we have 57% equity.
Also ran another sim with minbet donk option, and it gets used much more often on Ko turns:
Reason being (I think) that we target all the 98 without fd type hands that are now dead to our Kx. Whereas vs 33% these hands get to fold quite comfortably.
The flush completing was also something I didn't expect to be so important. I guess IP is way too polarised on Ks for us to do any leading at all. Good catch!
As for the heuristic I mentioned about betting hands that are too strong to xf/too weak to xc, I was thinking for example of spots where the flop goes xx, and OOP leads the turn with almost all his naked fd. So using the same logic, if we did have a leading range on the Ks, I imagine something like Ts8x would make a very reasonable lead.
Thanks again for pointing out my mistake, always happy to learn something new :)
Excellent video, Qing
Hand 1 --- The min-lead on A or K turn is very interesting. At first glance I thought it could be consequence of not having enough raise sizes for IP, so that PIO would elect to min-lead to dodge certain bet sizes, but actually doesn't seem to be the case.
I ran it for 6-max. Turn offsuit K is still pretty strong for BB, IP checks flop a lot with Kx. What really stands out for me is the pure min-leading on A (no spades) turn, going for pure b10% over b30%. However, if we only allow b30% lead or check, PIO will check 100% range.
Yeah I think we lead just to push our equity edge.
Cool, is this for BTN vs BB? I guess it depends somewhat on the cbet size too--against a half pot cbet I imagine Ao would be an even better card for BB.
Yeah, definitely it depends on cbet size and preflop ranges.
My sim had BTN opening to 2.5bb (so BB defending accordingly), using 40% cbet size, which I think is quite good and a little bit better than 25%-30%, as you also explained very well in the video. IP is checking back Ax-Kx quite often.

I've actually requested this sort of thread by the other RIO coaches, thanks for doing it!
Thank Darren, it was his idea!
Great one Qing!

Thanks Nuno!
Great analysis .
I had J6cc the 385/T/A hand, haven't run a solver for that one but I think the bdfd should be a give up on the river haha.

That said, calling you down to Chinatown :P
Great vid guys!
I also enjoyed the analysis, the comparison with Short-handed is very useful.
I had never heard the parable of the elephant and the blind men, I liked it.
Good luck!
Thank you, I had a lot of fun making the video too!

Awesome video Qing, love the in-debth analysis. Really thought-provoking!
Thank you!
