I enjoyed this different format! Another example regarding the 10bb rule is that sometimes I think it's fine to call a min raise from the BB with a hand that we don't think is good enough to shove/have enough FE against the opener. Say CO is an aggressive player and we have 10bbs and 79s in the BB...considering he's opening and raise/calling really wide, calling 1 more BB at a 4.7:1 odds is quite appealing.
That was a problem on my end. The mike wasn't close enough to my face and I was moving around my headset too much. Hopefully it will be better for the next video.
What do you think about the playability of hands factoring into a decision? For example you debate 96s vs K2s in an opening range. Do you think it's pretty much a 'myth' that 96s is a more "playable" hand (and less likely dominated) and therefore better to open or do you think there's any credence to this thought? Thanks.
I think many times people use playability incorrectly to justify plays. I would define playability the following ways "flops equity more often" or "is a worse hand but does better vs. a specific hand range" eg. JTs does better vs. top 7% than ATo. I think that is a quality which certain hands possess vs. certain ranges. My main point was that the hand closest to 97s isn't 96s it's more like Q5s and there are lots of hands like Q5s in between 97s and 96s that one can throw in their range.
About the 7h6h @13:00 where you say it's +EV to shove if you have 37% equity.
It's true, but isn't it MORE +EV to just call turn if you have 40% equity and NO FOLD EQUITY ? You can then bet the remaining 6k chips on the river in a way more +EV fashion.
In theory I would want more than 50% equity against vilain's range on the turn to shove without fold equity. I would call everything between 27-50% equity.
In practice I agree thats its more complex than that because you're not clearvoyant and can't know if you need to call or fold on some rivers. So you might be making a smaller mistake by shoving with 45% equity and than by calling some river on which you only beat a bluff but your opponent has decided (unbeknownst to you) to give up all his bluffs.
You are right. The EV of getting to play perfectly on rivers with a hand like 7h6h > The EV of the small equity edge we get shoving the turn. With a nutflush draw, id push the equity edge because ace high could be the best hand enough, especially on a draw heavy board, but with 7h6h you are right.

Better audio please! The poor audio quality is very off-putting :(
