@19:00 JJ vs Q8o on AKK6Q
I disagree with Betudontbet here that he should've bet the turn to protect against queens. Against queens you only give up 3/44th of the pot, whereas with a bet you directly lose that bet against all aces and kings. The reasoning seems too much results orientated. If you focus on your range, you don't feel the need to bet bluff catchers that need very little protection.
Ben against Kevin probably won't happen but would be the best thing the internet brought to us after online poker. Maybe Phil is willing to play Ben since HU isn't their regular games anymore.
@James@Luke JTs vs KK (7:30) - James thinks the peel w/ JTs would be bad and Luke would be surprised if anyone thinks its bad. Can you guys explain your thoughts on both sides here? At what stack depth would this peel be more acceptable in your eyes James?
it's fine if my range isn't nutted, JTs probably plays better than the JQs that i mentioned against my range too. i was probably expecting those hands to iso at the time but overlimping seems totally fine
@Betudontbet -- JJ Open (16:20) - You say you would hate getting 3b by Stevie (57bb/45bb eff) but wouldn't hate getting 3b by James (44bb eff). Is this just b/c you believe James 3b lighter than Stevie? I'm confused at the difference between the 2 given they both have pretty much the same eff stacks. Can you elaborate?
Interesting how much opinions differ on the AT/AA hand. I guess it's mostly up to how people read Seth's preflop range? If we tend to discount overpairs then it's kind of hard to fold AT, if we think he's not splitting his range much then his value range is considerably wider and his bluffing range is pretty thin in both spots. It's just that if we don't expect to see QQ+ much at all, then his value range is really paper thin. How does GT feel about this spot? I don't find it shocking that hero feels committed to call AT for his own range. Is this a spot where it's reasonable to expect villain's range to be strong enough to just deserve the pot everytime? (Is this what we assume when we decide to fold AT?)
Think it's a well played hand by both players. Stevie opens very little 8x and if we were constructing a bluff catching range our best Tx are better than say JJ. Without an exploitative read once the 8 pairs Stevie has call down I think.
I was surprised that the fold was a fairly popular option in the video. Also fully agree with you that AT/KT are the best bluffcatchers. Would like the opinion of those who were advocating the fold. Is it because you feel villain just has it way too much? Is it because you feel he reps too thin to ever be bluffing this river and not be -EV? Reads on villain? (I guess you guys know each other somewhat well). I mean, when we need like 28%ish equity to call and villain is only repping 2 combos of boat/quads + a few possible overpairs (which we may discount too heavily in hero's shoes it seems) it has to be an explo decision to fold doesn't it?
I'm enjoying the series, and it is great to see all the cards and even the 3rd-party comments from players who are no longer active in each hand.
What I would have liked (maybe it is not possible) was for the screen names to have been replaced with the pros' real names. I am only just getting used to who is who from their stars IDs.
Please do longer than 30 minute installments, I absolutely love the series and the idea (it's one of my favorites if not favorite) i just don't appreciate that the video length is under 45 min it's just not right that we wait 7-10 days for 30 minutes of commentary a lot of which ends up being excess discussion of certain spots. I'd prefer to see 50 minute installments but at least 45 please. Thank you
For sure. I do thank the editors tho - I imagine putting these together would be extremely time consuming! Excellent viewing looking forward to the battle continuing!
Cliff:
- Don’t give people too much credit, over thinking against perceived good player is not good for your emotions.
- Yrwthmelthr continues to foil
- When playing against a good player that’s self-aware of his own range, you should take that into consideration when making tough decisions.
Great video. Thanks everyone. Of course it’s easy for us to say what to do when we can see everyone’s cards. But the AA vs AT hand is really interesting.
Special thanks to the guy who puts this together, the editing must be tedious.

Also the format where you can see everyone's hand is really cool, it would be nice to see some PROvsPRO HU matches in the future also.

+1
What is the payout structure?
Thanks guys!

In the AT hand we also didn't have a blocked to any aq/aj/ak bdfd hands so out of all of our Tx this is definitely our best one combo wise
There he is!
