17:00 min, bottom left - Do we have a c/c range on the flop if we are folding here? 856x? Are we protected by the other 4 players in the pot that it doesn't matter much?

The easiest way to think about this is that in a 5-way pot, our hand values for betting/raising/calling have to move up significantly. So a hand like 7654 or QT97 or 8765 and occasionally even low sets become good candidates to x/c. In a HU or 3way pot they are all strong enough to bet or x/r (though we still may opt to x/c sometimes).

If we were to somehow figure out that betting anything worth x/c'ing was higher EV in a vacuum, I would be comfortable doing it because we are very protected from being exploited by the other 4 players in the pot (as you asked about). If we folded to a reasonably sized bet 100% of the time we checked, it would be very difficult for an opponent to build a counter-strategy to take advantage (disclaimer: we'd need to be careful about putting in money on future streets because we'd have a more defined range).

9:20 top right we're in BB with Q976ss. MP limps, CO pots, folds to us.

You mentioned this is a tough spot and I agree. It's also very common on Bovada. Even though we're technically in the BB, in a lot of ways it's more similar to a "normal" SB spot:

-We're not closing the action.
-We have to put in more OOP.
-A third player will have position on us post-flop.

For those reasons, as a starting point, I think about my SB cold call range, which is of course much narrower than my normal BB defense range. Of course we should also observe our opponents carefully, especially hands that go to showdown, because limping and isolation ranges vary drastically from player to player. If everyone was playing logically the limper and raiser should both have pretty strong ranges, but it's not uncommon to see both show up with rags on Bovada. If the limper is weak and/or the raiser isolates recklessly, it becomes attractive to 3bet a lot in this spot to knock out the third player and lower SPR.

Very well said. This is actually slightly worse than a SB situation because we know the "big blind" (limper) believes he has a playable hand rather than a random one.

If we become confident that the limper is a weak player and not raising ever, that changes things of course.

I noticed mikey pretty much pots everything preflop. Small sample but I have been doing well with minraising or limping my whole range pre. I did well when I went from pot to 2.5x pre and noticed I felt less inclined to c bet and you become somewhat of a target when you pot pre.. seem be doing even better with minr or limp. What are your thoughts on smaller raise sizing pre in PLO?
