Nice session, but not a really good for teaching material, like Phil said there wasn't really that much "awkward" spots / hard decisions, and almost all the hands were just super standard. This is imo too often the case, maybe its because people want to send sessions where they win and don't make mistakes. If I sent a session to review, it would be one where I would having a lot of trouble with my decision making.
I'd really like to see more videos where coaches lose money as well. I think those videos lead to more interesting discussions as opposed to "what do i do with trips and 3 nut kickers" or "how do i play trips on 992r". There are also VERY few videos like that available to watch as most coaches generally only make videos about sessions they win.
Could you explain a little bit why you particularly like to 3-bet with the TT98 type of hand at 100bb deep?
Don't you think that this is the type of hand that hate a 4-bet? (separate question, as I know that this is not the only factor to take into account for the 3-bet-or-not decision making).
Maybe I am at a different level as far as learning (not as experienced), but I completely disagree with Dauntless. This is exactly what I was looking for as far as a video, great theory discussion and when Phil agrees with a play that is still a learning opportunity because he usually explains why he likes the play, plus you can also think about why he likes it.
The video is containing a buch of standards spots, but i really like that you've taken a members session to review. That's one of the things i've been missing on this site, regarding plo sh.
I would like a little more flow in the video instead of the pausing every other secound. You are defiantly the best PLO coach out there, but you do get carried away talking about standard spots and i think you know that :)
Other than that, thank you for another great video.
It would be nice to know what stats Jnandez is using, especially since we don't have the same level of information on our opponents that Jnandez has. Sure, there is merit to speaking about spots more generally, but I'm sure that most viewers will be using HUDs themselves and I think it adds to the interactivity of the experience of watching a video.
I'm surprised somebody with a 5x5 stat matrix wouldn't list the information with the session recording, unless maybe he doesn't use the stats very much himself.
Good video for both Phil and Jnandez! I'm curious to know what the color code represents on different opponents such as red, light yellow, orange and green?
Regarding flatting AKQ6ss from the sb, in one of Andre Santos' videos he 3 bets AKJ4ss in the same spot (except vs a button 3x instead of 2x raise) and says that it is a 3b every time against a button open. He justifies it by saying we need to have a wide 3b range from the sb to punish the button's wide opening range.
Intuitively, it feels like if we are flatting a hand this strong in the sb, we arent punishing the button frequently enough to discourage him from opening hands that play poorly in 3b pots since he won't face one as often.
In that A9 on 983,A hand vs EireAbu, http://www.runitonce.com/pro-training/videos/4-table-50100-hu-plo-vs-eireabu-part/ 15:00 you discussed how I was incorrectly assuming you would cbet AA more often than not. You said that this was a flop that you would be checking often given you don't have many 93,83,99,88,33 combos and turn playability.
Yet in this video at 14:00 you state that villain as PF3B can cbet often on T84 given he has many medium wraps and AAQJ type hands; which is what I was assuming for the other hand. You said you would check on 983 given so many low straightening turns can come. There are nearly equal number of low dbl-gutters and OESDs on the T84 flop. A turn 5, 6 and 7 all complete straights for both flops.
It seems like we can have similar betting frequencies on both of these flops. These 2 flops appear to be on the edge of where we still hit them sufficiently often that we can bet but we by no means smash them. Do you see these two flops different enough to have differing betting strategies?
I just re-watched the clip for my wording here, because I agree that these boards are pretty similar.
What I said in this video was that the 3bettor should be betting this "at a decent frequency."
What I meant by that is that it's not a board that he has to give up on with most of his range, but if I had to give a rough estimate, I'd still think he should check over half the time.
I will say that my view has slightly changed (believe it or not), and that I probably was cbetting these boards less frequently last month than I am this month, especially in HU games where the opponent's raise-call range is weak enough that the boards that are only 'okay' for my range still put me at a significant range advantage.
I still wouldn't cbet a lot of my AA combos on either board though. My cbetting range would increase more in the way of extra weak semi-bluffs along with my strong hands. Then maybe some of the AAxx I'm not comfy x/c'ing.
If anything though, I view the T84 flop as worse for the 3bettor to cbet because he will often have to check on board straightening turns (which there are plenty of). Note that this doesn't mean it's a better board for the IP player to stab, because the 3bettor can have as many (or more) legit x/r hands in his range.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Obviously, everyone wants something a little different. Good thing I come out with so many videos every month!
Phil, in one of your plo video you advised to watch your vidoe about bet sizing. but I cant find it. can you give me a link?

It all makes sense to me and is in line with what I expected.
