Player association agrees - learn to let go, Phil! As pretty hand it may be, I dont find there to be any light cold 4betting for value/FE PRE w/o AAxx. Just looks like a fold pre with everyone else folding, and not much else.
Other than that It really feels like Phil's rather trying to find a thought process that would make certain plays/lines/sizings work (successfully or not at times), and I would rather see a PL500 reg (as in regular player) or even a live play review footage. Some spots were just played awkwardly and felt wrong, making further street decisions even harder to follow - without knowing villains perfectly + hero not being a seasoned regular its not that useful to hear how 'some sizings might work', when we assume there are no established dynamics and hero can just look like a fish to the regs for all we know.
Sorry if this was not exactly clear, or for being too harsh. Just feel like im not alone on this

I do think there are a lot of viable strategies, so when someone takes a line that I wouldn't have, I first try to determine if it fits into a strategy that I think is a good one before I dismiss it as a bad play. There is a trade off for sure when reviewing someone who is in several spots that I wouldn't be in. It flexes my mind a bit because I have to think things through that I haven't before, and for that reason I like it (for me and for the video). On the other hand, for someone who watches my videos regularly and plays a style similar to mine, it may be a lot of content that they feel doesn't apply for them.
I have a strong aversion to calling something definitively right or wrong, probably due to studying philosophy in college. I can see how that would be a turn-off for some people who would rather me be more absolute in my analysis.

I think I usually do a good job of finding the balance between explaining the merits of many potential strategies while still giving an opinion, and I personally felt this video turned out well, but you never have to apologize for a legitimate critique!
I want to make my videos as good as I can for all of you, and opinions on what works and what doesn't work help me (hopefully) improve my teaching methods. Thank you!

I'll throw in a like for evaluating various options from different angles. (though I did also study some college level philosophy) On early streets, the EV of many different plays are likely to be the same (or very similar), so decisions end up being best guided by player tendencies exploitatively, and by the later street situations they set up. (IMO)
I think this video did turn out well, and opinions come out clearly even when evaluating different options.
I would like to see some more vids of this type. I think it would be a great idea to make a vid summing up mistakes people make when trans. NL->PLO.
I'm also intrested how to keep truck of your and vill. range in PLO during the game (seems like there is a lot of combos so we need to grup them, but how do we categorise them efficently and how we keep truck of relative numbers of combos in each category).
I wasn't criticizing Phil or the video at all--I enjoyed it as I do all of Phil's videos. I just think AKK9ds is a pretty clear fold-based on my experience of this situation, our ace blocker isn't making me any more optimistic that we face a non-AA hand more than 1/100 times. Some other strong KK like KKJTds is probably a profitable preflop peel. versus an erratic fishier player i'd probably go ahead and let him stack me here if i flop OK but no 500 regs make this cold 4 light given stacks and positions.
At 27:50 A5hhQ9cc in the HIJ is close??? Maybe I am overvaluing this hand but I don't understand how this isn't a very strong hand and an open in any position with 2 high suits

Definite fold pre with AKK9. OTF it's at worst less than a 1bb mistake to stack off, folding is preposterous after making such a thin preflop call.

Responded above about the AKK9.

Really like these videos since im transitioning myself! ;)
Awesome to hear, ty! Unfortunately that was the end of the footage, but as I mentioned in the video, I'm always looking for more!
If there's a lot of interest in more PLO videos through the lens of transitioning from NL, I can keep that in mind for future videos.
