this is very good! love when you go deep into some details about rundowns and how they impact your flop decision, that is a high level of knowledge in dynamic game theory and you explain it very well. too bad you only make one video per month :/

lipe piv must be optimistically breaking even.

arizonabay 10 years, 8 months ago

Why are you always so negative? Does it make you feel better to try and put people and their game down? Maybe you are the one that is optimistically breaking even??? Every video of Lipe PIV that I have seen has been well done and (seems to be) theoretically sound.

I was raised if you can't say something nice about someone don't say anything at all....(very cheesy I know but man you are always talking about someone or other).

daniel,

i have nothing against you, you've said some positive things for me, but i've also seen you be unnecessarily negative in a lot of instances, particularly here...im gonna refrain from commenting on your posts, but...

care to submit a video for review?

danielmerrilees 10 years, 8 months ago

"lipe piv must be optimistically breaking even."

"oh my god haha no offence but the 46s nut raise made me puke."

Ok so these comments are just whatever.

But then when arizonabay attacked me;  my comment 'because he fucking sucks at HUNL' might be a bit to harsh. But i don't get why everyone wants to sugarcoat things on this site. If i think he plays poorly then why wouldn't i say that?

Ok so i'll think about your offer Peter. Im not sure it would be +ev for me for the world to see how i play. Especially since i'm not getting anything out of it apart from exposure. I feel that you are challenging me to prove my self by saying 'care to submit a video'? Obviously coaching is helpful but i would need you to critique far more and even harshly. Like if something is super bad i don't really think your emphasising the point across enough by just saying i don't like your play for instance. I would be more open to playing you or lipe piv across 4 tables at low stakes if you want to make a video and see my play. But as for exposing my holecards to the world in my main game i just dont see that as a good thing.

I guess you don't really have a clue about dealing with other people much.  No one is trying to sugarcoat anything.  We are trying to be objective about what's going on over the course of a session.  If you just sit there and say only harshly negative things it only kills our attempts to reach this goal and it alienates people from being willing to submit videos in the future.  It's just a lose-lose.

Anyways, we'll blur your name out, only RIO will know it's danielmerrilees.

And I'll be merciless.

I believe completely that you have the right to voice your opinion daniel - the reason it bothers me is the way you do it. You are always talking about how bad someone plays while never making a strategic statement to prove your point.

oh my god haha no offence but the 46s nut raise made me puke

Instead of saying this and only this why can't you say what should have been done instead and back it up w/ the reasons why you feel raising is bad. Just saying someone sucks and then saying "I am expert" does not make you an expert, now if you can back up your claim of being an expert by giving expert quality advice and strategic insights I would be more than willing to listen. But as long as I have been on these forums all I have seen is you making snide comments and saying you would play anyone anytime and then somehow that match never seems to take place. Why is that? Is it, maybe and this is a big maybe, that if you played a RIO member and were not playing as well as you claim to play you could no longer claim to be so great, could no longer say things like "omg you suck" - I highly doubt you would ever submit a video for review for the same reason - I don't think you can back up your claims of being an expert, if you could - you could be an asset to the RIO community by giving strategic advice instead of just petty sounding "you suck" posts.

Ok arizona show me 1 other person who beats the games this much http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54/poker-beats-brags-variance/crushing-hu-0-25-0-50-a-1458592/. They are few and far between-im not sure they exist. You have to be an expert to get this win rate with such high rake at this level. I want you to understand how much i crush this game.  "I highly doubt you would ever submit a video for review for the same reason"

Go check out the Jason Koon video of me in the sunday million.

[x] already have a video on RIO

[x] poor kid plays peasant stakes but still thinks hes a boss

Sure is a nice graph - doesn't prove you are an expert - I have posted nice graphs as well and I am very, very, very far from an expert. I would be much more impressed w/ you if you give reasons why the nut raise was so bad - and instead of doing so you just showed a 40k hand graph and tell me that makes you an expert? C'mon man give some strategy advice, I need help on strategy not on how to post graphs. Breakdown the 64s hand and show us why raising is so bad.

edit: Didn't know you had a tourney video on here, congrats, but you said you were a HUNL expert.

good video Peter.. on the T8s @ '32 dont you feel that a K is a card that he is 100% barreling his air and his draws and would make him check back a 9, and will give up on river blanks?

Peter Jennings 10 years, 8 months ago

luiz,

As I said in the video, I thought most villains' range to cbet that particular flop at that particular stack depth would not include much worse than gutter+2 overs or a FD.  Given that info, I stand by my statement in the video that I think villain's turn betting range is just too narrow and doesn't include enough bluffs to make calling on the turn good.

Felipe Boianovsky 10 years, 7 months ago

Awesome Peter, tanks very much again!

About the 64s flop raise, I remember expecting villain to spazz w AX hands with his overs + gutters at the time... But he definelty could just multiple barrel those as well, so yeah, I see how calling is much better. I think if it's more of a middling board, raising would make more sense actually, as I would wanna raise those boards as bluffs more frequenty, given I'd have many more 2 pair and stuff in my range, right ?
