That was almost as good as having my own HH reviewed as I have a very similar playing style and make the same type of mistakes. I probably would want to open KJs utg but fold it because I tell myself that it has reverse implied odds.....but at a fairly passive table you should open a hand like this and decide what you are going to do if you get 3 bet depending on the situation because it can flop really well. The bet sizing tips were really good too. I think you're right that strategy can be different at these stakes then at higher stakes where players are more aggressive. TY - I got a lot out of this and would love to see more student reviews at low to med stakes.
Great vid, I learned a lot. One question though, can you tell me what makes these two spots different? In the first spot, you recommend checking behind because you don't want to get jammed on and make what could be an incorrect fold and I would have done that. In the second spot, which looks very similar in my eyes, you recommend cbetting. I would have checked behind there too. I don't know how to link straight to the time in the vid but the first spot is @ 25:45 and the second spot is @ 40:54
In the first hand, we have a coordinated wet board that is gonna hit villains cold calling range pretty hard and we`re playing vs loose villain with a good reshove stack.
Second hand, we get a super dry A high flop that favours our range and were playing vs what seems to be a pretty tight player whos almost never gonna float us or make moves, so cbetting with our whole range is better.
Basically what SPrince said but also to add that AK on the J8x flop has better show down potential then the KTs on the Axx flop. So in the first hand if we check back and he bets we can call on quite a few turns but with the K hi in the second hand we don't do as well calling a turn bet so its better for us to try and win the hand now.
Nice video! Good to shape up my basic game, much appreciated.
At 17:45 you say you still min-open KJs with 17BB. I tend to open shove KJs when I get on 20BB or lower from any spot, what is your opinion on this?
When do you open shove this hand and when do you min-open? What are your considerations?
(I do try to watch out for table dynamics and there are some situations (sometimes on bubble for instance) I min-open but most of the time I just get it in because it is an easier play for me.
Thanks. I tend to start shoving my whole range at about 12-13bbs. I think just open shoving KJs from 17bbs is gonna make you fairly easy to play against since if you are shoving that hand but min opening AA etc then it becomes transparent. Also people play much better these days against people who shove 20bbs and less since there is so much info out there about shoving/calling ranges. I think in a lot of spots KJs is good enough as a r/c too so we waste some value there by just open ripping it always.
at 29:00 with the 33, we have a little over 4500, and the guy in ealier position makes it 450. I do not really remember where I got the 10x rule from, referring to set mining. But I have noticed that it gets me in trouble and obv wrong. So all else equal, how many chips would you like to have to set mine here, and how low of chips do you like to shove with here?

Hello! A huge thank you again for giving this a view! You gave me lots to think about, esp. with the bet sizing.
PS! Yes. You did pronounce it correctly.
Thanks and thanks for letting me use the footage. I hope the next videos give you lots more to think about too :)

To call here I think I would need a stack of at least 9 k. So 20/1 not 10/1. To reshove I think about 22bbs.
