Just to give some feedback on this video format.

Pros:
The analysis is really good. It's an interesting form of studying when you don't see hole cards. It feels like we're taking a more macroscopic look at ranges and situations, which I like.

Being able to see a wider variety of successful strategies being implemented is refreshing and could potentially lead to some new ways of thinking.

Cons:
I can essentially do the exact same thing that this video is doing (open up Stars and sweat high stakes hands) without having to pay $100 per month for a subscription. (Obviously I lose out on the superior analysis but I can get the same data or content for free).

Overall I think I would mostly prefer actual recorded footage like you had done in the past, but I'm not entirely opposed this this format. I feel like adding a bit more depth or another dimension to this video format would make it better. Perhaps in future videos of this type you could take some situations where something odd went on and run it through a solver or CREV sim and see if you can find some interesting takeaways.

Not agree i find that those kind of videos are more interessing than the hole cards exposed ones although my favorites were the post audio. I think if you record all of your sessions and choose the best footage to make a vid it will be pretty interessing. Just my opinion of course. This one was really interessing too and i like to see different type of vids (forgive my bad english lol)

Ok just to chime into this one aswell in order to discuss the different formats:

Kinda liked this one even tho i think you could have done a better job in some spots to make it awesome. Will try to verbalize what i mean:
the big benefit of this format i thought was for the people to stop thinking about single hands and start thinking more about ranges since you are not gonna be able to comment on how to play certain hand in every spot which tbh is what most coaches naturally do reviewing footage with holecards. So now not having holecards we will have to talk way more about ranges instead of hands which i think would be great for most of the ppl watching those vids. Don't get me wrong, I always thought your videos are really awesome because you talk about your entire ranges way more than the other coaches (or at least the limited content i saw of them, tbh I mostly have rio bc of u and maybe sauce and a few theory vids of phil lol fanboy alert xP)
But back to the point, going into detail about what ur bottom percentile value hand or "closest" bluff would be (like in the spot where u say K5 is a good no bluff by danmer, which hands are u bluffing there OTR? still not bluffing Q or J high? how thin do you go for value? what hands would you put into your c/r range and do u think different probe sizes are good?)
I remember a spot where it was a simple ckd down spot and you kinda went into detail about how thin both players should be value betting - That was great - I think into dept analyzes like this would be super valueable for most players.
Yes it would be slow pace and pretty intense but i think thats the way to go!
It would be almost like a theory video.... which is the next point
...
PLEAAAASE DO SOME THEORY VIDEOS :) (about range construction, betsizing, maybe combined with different board textures etc, just stuff like that u know. I have insider info that u can make some veeery good theory presentations ;P)
I know for sure that i would learn way more from a vid like that than from your "usual" live footage vids and i think most of your "viewers" would.
Because let's be honest. I think they are GREAT. They taught me a LOT. Especially the earlier ones. But the later ones are just as good. They are just not much different. After having watched all your live footage videos watching another one where you play standart spots most of the time will just not have as much additional benefit. I think u kinda made enough liveplay vids and the community would profit way more from more in depth theory oriented videos that explain more advanced concepts. The newer players for whom those concepts might be a bit too advanced already have a ton of content to go thru, and after they studied it all they are advanced enough for some high level shit :P
(oh and u going into detail about how you construct your ranges in common spots such as the checked down spot will be great great great for somewhat less experienced players)

hope it wasn't too confusing and i could get my points across well, if u didnt understand my thinking in a certain spot feel free to enquire. Aslo I might add something i forgot next days.

xx your fanboy :)

hey kevin,

in the hand on the right that starts at 23:20, i think you might have missed the flop action due to the weird riv spot on the other table. danmerr x/c here instead of cbet, which makes his turn and riv play much more reasonable (i think).

cool vid!!

nittyoldman 9 years, 3 months ago

@19:45 you say, "good no bluff otr...he [danmerrrrr] is high enough in his check calling range...that he should not be bluffing K hi"
did you accidentally say this thinking he x/c turn (he lead the turn) OR did you mean something else? I'm confused

Kevin Rabichow 9 years, 3 months ago

In this case I meant he's high enough in his flop check/calling range - I think his entire range is making this lead on the board pairing turn. He has many weaker missed draws here to bluff the river with.

Format was awesome, love how it forces you to talk ranges in every spot compared to individual hands.

Also please don't switch to 6max videos. Way less interesting spots come up in those videos, they'd be super boring.
