wow thanks 6 months after...it is never too late :) but just a question, will you do something different in the future than HH review? what do you think is the best valuable way of teaching/learning trough a training video site? are you take into account all MTT suggestions in the forum? thanks James
Hey Arnaud - best way of learning.. I'd say check out as many peoples' videos as you can, pick out a group of instructors you like watching and a group from whom you can develop as vast a set of skills as possible. For example in my videos I focus a lot more on psychology whereas there'll be plenty on RIO who will help you learn the mathematics better.
If I strike up an idea for a concept video that I feel qualified to cover I'm always considering it, and I do check out those suggestions.
With the KTs hand it seems with the tight image he might not call 2 streets with many of the weaker parts of his range and would be willing to turn Ax and gutshots into bluffs by the river. Also don't you think it could be slightly optimistic going for 3 streets with the dynamics? You are expecting him to call with K9 or worse in a spot where most triple barrel bluffs will be just hands that turned flush draws by the turn and I think there are way more value hands in CrazyB15s range than bluffs given the dynamics.
James Obst10 years, 11 months agoHi BC, I think I gave as thorough an assessment as I could in the video with regards to your questions, I definitely don't expect the villain to be hovering over the fold button ready to pitch anything that isn't top pair; it'd be very exploitable if he was (our history with him on this table, his frequencies and our basically 100% cbet frequency are reasons to expect to get turn calls). Going for three streets might be too thin on some rivers like connecting cards and or hearts, but I think it's very valid on bricks and am definitely keen to make the weaker parts of his range pay to see a river, especially given ace high hands can check the river to showdown instead of wanting to bluff.
James Obst10 years, 11 months agoHmm thanks, those calling ranges are probably a touch wide for this stage in the tournament but it looks closer than I realised. Thanks for posting that. Probably important to remember that solid players in the blinds, especially the SB, won't want the high variance of the fringe hands, particularly as the FT gets close.
Yeah those are nash calling ranges, way wider than the blinds' actual in game ranges, eg. it has sb calling q9o and j10s with a big stack in the bb. Most players fold 98s and k4o in bb to that shove too. With realistic calling ranges, Id estimate the j8o shove nets at least a small blind.

j8 off at 22min isn't a shove, jt off is
So, I'm getting j9o plus
You're probably right about that. Nice video yo.
