more of this please! & thanks

Appreciate the feedback. I plan on mixing in some recorded sessions as stated in this video, but I do think the majority of videos that I make for the time being will be geared more towards range/hand analysis like this, so there should be a lot more videos like this to come!

One of my favorite videos!

I Enjoy the way you present information, and I love your outlook towards the game!

Expressing the strategic viewpoint of it being advantageous to play tough and aggressive whenever playing taking an aggressive line allows you to be break even or better is refreshing. That type of play could also have the benefit of creating a game feel that attracts more action players.

I look forward to your future videos.

Thanks my friend! I believe the next one is a session review and there will be some of those probably mixed in, but the majority of videos should be very similar to this one, so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback!

i joined rio a little bit over a month, basically i watched 2 video a day everyday now, i rate this is the best video i watched by far, some video got great content but player don't know how to teach, they can't explain themselves well, but Nick you did a great job , keep up the good work, let me have your coaching n website info, I'm interested

Nick Johnson 7 years, 8 months ago

Thanks my friend, I definitely try to present even the most advanced concepts as simply as possible. The coaching info is located at www.archcitypoker.com under the "private coaching" tab. You can check that out and then email me at archcitypoker@gmail.com.

Welcome to RIO!! I followed your work on Arch City poker. Glad to see your hand analysis videos are still top notch. Can't wait to see your future videos.

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words and feedback. I'm looking forward to providing you and the other members with some good content.

good content, hope you are planning to do more of PJ stuff (or some hand review work that include ranges analysis). imo, its much more preferable than live\recorded sessions.

congrats on solid debut

Thanks, yeah the next video is a recorded session I believe, but the majority of them should be range/analysis and review like in this video. Thanks for the feedback!

Great video. Very good clear analysis of Omaha. Dissecting hands using stats is something that is missing IMO, because there's no PIO for Omaha.
Did CO call in the end vs your Btn river shove, or is the hand a made up example?

Nick Johnson 7 years, 8 months ago

Thanks rizzer! I apologize, I just realized I didn't include his action on the river in that hand, but he did end up folding, so a nice result. Most of my videos should be geared more towards this kind of range/hand analysis, so glad you enjoyed it!

Unless I'm missing something this first hand is flawed,
You never took into consideration 99 with flush draw or strt draw,
Then your whole argument of JJ being worse than actual hand is flawed!
Unless somehow you're assuming opponent doesn't ship that,...
Although did you also take into computation he can ship 8x boats too? Although maybe that cancels out in both situations, being almost equal? I don't know I'm not a software guy

Nick Johnson 7 years, 8 months ago

Yeah, I have J8+ on the turn as a part of his continuing range, so 99 will be included in there, along with any draws with it. I think I mentioned on the river at some point that I haven't seen opponents in this particular pool (from my own observation and my student who played this hand) really shipping 99 or 8X boats in this spot. I've seen some underfulls and some 99 types of boats every now and then, but they seem to be flatting way more often than not. I think they fear they aren't getting worse to call often enough. Of course, if these hands are part of his or the pool's value raising range, then we would like to have JJ combos for sure. Just let me know if that answer suffices and I'll do my best to clear anything else up! Thanks.
