Pedro Madeira aka gusmaa launches a high stakes PKO live session offering a great opportunity to apply the concepts he presented in his theoretical knockout tournament series.

You can find the PKO theory series here: Comparing Ranges - Freezeout vs. PKO

39:40 hand with KK on 987 board. Why you don't like raise against this sizing ? seems like he wanna see turn and betting 1BB, there is not many great turns for you

I have no idea how he constructs his range with that bet sizing, so I do not mind just calling and playing turn and river on a board that favors his range more than mine

Hi Pedro! you come up with the best content for essential MTT as usual.
25:58 you decided to go with 60% pot on the river (Ten full house). which sizing do you think is better in case you had a king?

GeeTeeOh 5 years, 7 months ago

33.45 top middle QQ
Do you think vs good opponents we should not have a non-AI 3b? They should correctly deduce we cannot 3b/f and thus ou range is pretty much premiums only, vs which they can overfold.

Pedro Madeira 5 years, 7 months ago

We can 3b/f the very bottom of our 3betting range (if you are 3betting a polar range). But you are right regards to hands such as broadways and pairs. You can simply 3b linear and call every hand you are 3betting with.

hi gusma !
on the 43:00, KJo, you decide to barrel turn with the king of hearts.
thinking on the bb range, is not better to check behind and see the river? i mean, on bb range, the 8 of hearts is a card that hits his range that he will have so much flushes, straights and two pairs that will be shoving us a lot and making us fold this equity

Pedro Madeira 5 years, 4 months ago

You def. can do both, but vs 1/3 cbet on the flop his continuing range is supposed to be weaker, so I like the line to bluff it off attacking the weak 4x and 7x, even Ax on the river.

sisti502 5 years, 4 months ago

ok, talking about the size, giving the bb range, he is going to have more flushes than us in this turn so i deduce we need to decrease our sizing to very small portion of the range, is that rigth? so what are the blufs you wiil barrel the turn to balance that size and there is any deviation that we need do because is a PKO tournament in our check/ bett call/ betting folding range? (in this specific spot)

We should choose a sizing according to the ratio value:bluff in our range, SPR, our opponent's calling range, etc. In this case, with this sizing, we can value bet as thin as 2p+ or even TP+FD (such as AxKh), so we can easily bluff most of our KhX or even some pure bluffs (T9ss) due to weak nature of our opponent's range.
As fas as PSKO strategy, I would be less inclined to bluff off considering most players will hero call more often than not due to the existence of the KO.
Let me know if that answers your questions.
Cheers!
