Nice video and one of the more simple and easy formats ive seen you use this far . You broke it down as easy as could be good job. On the plo hand did you ever consider the fact that he could have raggedy double suited hands to the 10 like 10 3 6 8 dbl suited or a 10 with a pair and even lower kicker ( 10 7 7 8 ) or something like that making this a even closer decision?(4handed plo is going to include more of these hands imo)
I guess this type of player might be one to just spazz shove many turns not knowing what to do even if he did hold one of these hands that were dominating and still put us in a tough spot on the turn.
Yes I did consider that he could have a lower kicker than I. However, a) he wont have raggedy T368ds type stuff given he was the PFR and he wouldnt open that light.
b)Even if he has some worse Txxx, its still a fold becasue the vast majority of Txxx in his PFR range will be higher than TJxx. c) as you correctly mentioned I think he will just pot turn with all Txxx at that SPR so I wont have an ability to decipher when he has the weaker portion of Txxx.
Zach - I find it interesting that you mention that you think he's strong when he snap called your check raise. I, along with many other online pros, tend to find that when fish snap call it's normally something middle strength like top pair weak kicker/middle pair or a draw. I'm curious if this read changes given you are check raising the flop rather than say c-betting the flop/barreling the turn.
Good video concept. This has potential for a series.
I don't find the quick call to have strength but rather a lack of debate. Quick calls are most often draws. In this case 56 is the only hand that doesn't require much thought from him. He knows he isnt going to fold and he isn't going to raise. There is no other legitimate draw that is strong enough to call with no decision.
Furthermore, very strong made hands on such a dry flop would need to decide to slowplay or to raise back. Medium strength made hands would need to decide if they are strong enough to call, or should fold, or should raise for protection, etc.
i did not exclude 77.
realize that when I write 60%!(34,k,33,44,hh, etc) that range translates to
all hands in the top 60% of hands after removing hands he would be on flop. ie he would bet all Kx, 33, 44, 34, hh. "!" means "not" in PPT syntax. Thus 77 is still in that range. In fact its the most common hand I am beat by.
Nice video! next time could you hide the whole hand and drop it down as you go through so we can't see what you have done and what turn etc is. felt I wasn't able to fully engage or use my own ranges as well knowing the turn was a 2
In the QQ hand, what sizing doyou use if the turn is a 3hh(bdfd)? Assuming he folds alot of 9x when u c/r flop to a 2 barrel, dont u think a standard bet bet bet line is better?
I would bet small on 3h turn such that draws and 9x still call. I think as I mentioned that betting flop is the bulk play but if done sparingly checking will outperform betting.
In the QJs hand where you get max value with 2nd pair, what would you 3b bluff in villains shoes? I was think of some Axhh but i dnt see him having any unless he flats an AJo which seem bad to me.
Well assuming that we aren't checking the NFD twice on the button then we shouldn't have any 3bet bluff. Our range is too capped to have any value raises; our whole range is bluff catchers once we face the x/r. IF BTN does check some FD earlier streets then appropriate heart blocker hands would be our bluff candidates.

In the second hand, why do you exclude 77 from villain's range?

In the PLO hand. Doesnt he have T987,T986 T875 etc type hands in his range alot?
Read my first post. Combinatorically, the vast majority of his Txxx hands that he raises PF will have a sidecard above a J.

Sure. You got it. I will try to remember that next time.
I love this video Zach! Good stuff man.
Very nice video.
