I do think that's part of it. It looks like villain checks river more often than not with 66 on the river (this is consistent with oop player having a checking range with nutty hands in a free bet spot also). With 99 and JTo being our SDV checks in our range we need to find some thick value with our T's. I think the properties of blocking a lot of villain's calling range and nutty range is what makes T6 a thick value bet.
Yeah this makes a lot of sense and would simply increase our equity vs. Villain's continuing range. He probably doesn't have much naked 6x anyway as he will be folding flop or blocking river with it, so removing those hands probably doesn't have much impact.
Very educational. Would like to see a replayer of some hands, where you pause and quiz us on what bet we would use for hero's hand. I think it was Antonio Miranda that made a HU video that was similar to taking a quiz. Just more examples overall would help. Video was clear on the message you were getting across, but repetition of hands is how a lot of people learn. Similar to your GTO trainer videos, I think those were a big hit. More examples please!
Hi Peter Clarke , I have learnt from various coaches that we shouldn't really have a block bet size on the river IP as we risk reopening the action and get bluffed off our hand. I thought we would only use sizing bigger than 50% when we are IP? OOP of course the block bet makes total sense and I always use it with comfort. Does the "no block bet on river IP" theory only applies to triple/double barrels spots and does not apply to free betting spots you mentioned? What's the theoretical rationale behind and on the other hand how should we approach it from a practical perspective?
It's my first comment on this site, thanks in advance. Really like your contents :)
I am enjoying all of your videos Pete! You do a great job of simplifying and explaining complex sitiations in poker. I hestitated to sign up for poker training for 8 years, but i could not pass on the great content/cost ratio as an essential member. Thank you Phil for making your content realistic and affordable. You can tell you have been coaching for a while, as you make often dry poker concepts, eaiser to learn. Thanks for all of the info!

Very good vid proffessor Carrot. very well presented. at the end does the T6 have a big size because it blocks Villains 66 rivering a FH ?
