Pedro,
You touched on this point a little bit in the video, but do you think that utg having a betting frequency (in MDA) of ~27% is an exploitative adjustment to what they observe in the player pool that btn plays too passively in the betting line and possibly has a wider range than solver suggests? I would imagine that pool plays wider ranges from BB for that raise size closing the action as well. These adjustments to the sim would have utg developing more of a betting range I would imagine (probably less xr as well). Thoughts?
Regarding BB's wider calling range (assuming is a Reg), even tho I agree with you that a lot of players might be calling a bit wider, I don't think it would be enough to cause significant changes to UTG's cbetting strategy since we'll still be playing OOP against a very strong and condensed flatting range from the BTN
About the MDA, from my experience it's more about people being clueless about how this spot works and throwing in some bets on boards that look good for them than it is about them knowing IP probably won't play as aggressive with stabs as he should.
One thing that it will impact the data however is the fact that there will be some hands with fishes involved (in that case than strategies would indeed have a massive shift from the ''equilibrium'' we see on the solver)
Great stuff Pedro, multiway is such a complicated topic and don't get a lot of coverage here.
Would really love to see some deep dive videos regarding donking in multiway pot & how to play max EV line in a set up of rec/reg mix. Thank you a lot!
Great video Pedro.
I’m wondering if I should play overbets on turns or rivers in multiway pots or how you approach sizing. A board like Q75T double flush would seem like an overbet board typically but I also try to size down multiway so I never know which approach to use.
It depends on the specific node and texture I'd say, hard to create a general rule. If we bet flop as the BTN and only 1 player calls, usually we see similar range construction / sizing scheme than what we are used to in a heads up situation. Here for example you can see that BTN plays lots of overbets vs the BB on the turn
On this board, given all the connectivity, even when both players call our flop bet IP is still mainly using overbet as a turn sizing:
But there are some other situations that when you get multiway to the turn it does indeed limits the betsize (in comparison to what it would be HU)

Excellent video!
You could potentially do mutltiple series of videos on various aspects of mw play.
Does utg get a wide xr range since he is almost range checking?
Thanks!
Hey SoundSpeed , glad to hear you liked the video
We'll take a look at that exact situation (UTG XR range) on the next video :)

Pedro,
Really enjoyed this video topic and the way you presented it. Look forward to the next installments of the series. Great job.
Thanks
Thanks mate!
