9:00 AQ87, certainly not a GTO 3bet, and the opponent is a reg as far as I know. Even against a fish, I fail to see VS what player profile this is a good 3bet- if the opponent is loose passive, and we think he will not 4bet bluff ever, we are much better 3betting AKQT low suit for example than this hand..

Hey, AQ87$ss: Axx, like our hand in the video it is a mix of 3bet and call, In most sims, in Vision, it is, in my Monker sim, the same, Maybe in some sims, it won't be, but that's not really the point IMO.
I think 3betting this hand vs. any regular is a better option than calling, except if our opponent 4bets too much, which is rarely the case, Usually it's hard for people to find enough 4bets, especially in a BTN vs. CO situation.
I think that AKQT!axx it's also a 3bet, with a higher EV than the hand we mentioned, but that doesn't mean that we exclude the lower +EV hands from our 3Bet range.

Great review. Looking forward to the next part.

21:00 is check calling a possibility as well with the aa hand?

28:30 table 1 should the flop bet size be closer to 50% pot?

Thanks!

21:00 I don't like the check, he will check behind the hands that he wants to realize equity with and if he pots now we are facing a stronger range (his betting range) and our decision will be much tougher. If he checks behind there aren't too many good turns for us and he can still check back a set. Potting it's the way to go, we can get worst hands to call, we need protection and we can get value.

28:30 I like the small sizing, that's usually what I use, 50% will work also, but I think both sizing will accomplish the same thing, which makes the small one superior IMO.

Thank you for the feedback!

Very enjoyable to watch. Great narration. I've always been a fan of your content.

I try to make clear content that after people watch my videos they can take something away from it and apply it in their game.
Your feedback is very appreciated.
Thank you!

32:54dont you think this spot is underbluff by the pool due to our calling range on the turn mainly oriented toward flush ? It's tough to see someone wanting flush to fold using this sizing.

Paul Toda 1 year, 3 months ago

You bring up a good point, but I see random bluffs from recreational players with that line bet 1/2 turn and river after you check as 3bettor iP.
But let's say it's an under-bluffed spot, the Nut flush on that runout can easily go for Pot as ooP, but as we can see in the video not everybody will do that.
Maybe the Nut flush will go 50% of the time Pot and 1/2 Pot, 2nd Nut flush will go 1/2, we are still beating the other flushes, that will randomly bet because a lot of the pool won't know what to do with them, they don't want to go 1/2 turn and x/call river.
So we are still beating the random flushes and we are still beating the random bluffs, considering these factors I will call every time this situation.
Worst case scenario, and your assessment it's accurate, maybe I'm slightly losing with the call, but if your assessment it's wrong and you make such a big deviation from GTO you can make a big mistake.
