thank you nice video very interesting limp pots, can you give some advise in single reis pots ,wat you isolate or just calling with, may be in next time
Thanks @mtd12345. Yea sure, i will maybe make a part 3 to this video in the future as i feel i can add a bunch more about playing live and also show some more hand examples. In general though i use a tighter ISO range because people overcall ISOs pretty wide, every table will be different though so make sure to be aware of who is left to act etc.
Great video. Including hand examples was very helpful.
I really liked the idea of sometimes going to play poker and being a "rec" for that session. Whenever
I play I put a lot of pressure on myself to fully be in the moment, but poker is also supossed to be fun and sometimes we forget that.
Bad beat jackpots in addition to rake are also terrible.
7:05 do you incorporate overlimping only from late position, especially with hands as weak as q9o?
Yea same, I still like to have fun playing poker so I sometimes like to go and play low stakes as a rec and have a drink/chat etc.
7:05 - No, i will also limp from early positions sometimes, however i wouldn't view this spot as a hugely winning situation and so i would keep my rage much tighter as we can get ISOd ourselves, we pay high rake, we usually also head to the flop multiway and we will also often be OOP to other players.
Great video! Would be also great to see a video on how you adjust your 3 betting ranges for live. Opening ranges and calling ranges live are usually super strong so would be great to see how you deal with adjusting your 3 betting and calling range.
hey paul great video, ive recently within the last 6 months been transitioning from playing 6 max online.
most of my bankroll honestly has been built from playing 1/3 and 2/5 online,
theres no bigger wtf, from going from playing 50 or 100 nl on pokerstars all day, to the next day playing live 1/3 max 300
all the limping, multi way pots, straddling going on, it takes some time to get used to, but its so much softer compared to online. though WAAY less hands per hour, and its soooo slow lol.
in my opinion, the live 1/3 regs would get absolutely wrecked online 6max just with there tendencies and how it plays. its very different!
like for example, the other day, i have pocket QQ utg, ,live 1/3 and i open to $15
i got 7 callers!!! and the flop comes AK3 rainbow, just check and give up lmao
if you know there are players that are raising it up big, opposed to cold calling behind, ive messed around a bit with limp raising premiums, because its so annoying to getting so many cold callers.
table selection is huge!
I can't really agree with the overlimp strategy. In a lot of small stakes games they may be raking away 1 or 1.5 limps on the flop ($1 preflop for the jackpot drop and $2 on the flop, regardless of pot size is common). If the pot gets bigger they will rake more but if you overlimp 1 player in a $1/$2 game and the SB calls and the BB checks the pot may be $5 instead of $8. So if it checks to you and you bet the flop and everyone folds you profit $3 (and the dealer is going to expect a tip because there was a flop, so really you profited $2. That's 2/3 of your profit taken away). Raising preflop is mandatory.
You do make a good point in games where there's a jackpot rake but not all rooms have these and even if they do the action you suggest isn't always going to happen, sometimes of course we wont even win any money as we will whiff the flop and check fold, but in low stakes live games, i think you'll be hard pressed to find many 3/4 way pots that you'll bet into and 3 other players just fold, i think these spots could actually be quite profitable. However what i would say is you'll know your tables and rooms better than i will, and also your tipping habits, so if you always tip $1 in these situations and there's a jackpot and players at your table aren't very sticky then i agree with you and i would also probably not have a limp strategy either :)

Thanks koffa, ill maybe look into doing a part 3 in the future around that idea.
