10:00 on 852-3 you mentioned AQ is a better bluff than AK because it blocks QQ for the calling range. But if we are folding JJ-99 at some frequency and calling A5s, 66, & AK that you mentioned, wouldn't we want to have AK instead of AQ as a bluff, so we don't lose to AK?
In the wizard sim you showed AQ wasn't in range and AK was shoving, HJ was folding AK. We just call A5s, 66, 87s, JJ / QQ+.
Yeah, AQ wasnt in the range but TT almost wasnt in the range either :D, somewhat likely guys will find AQ at a frequency here since its a high frequency 4B at 100bb and I dont suspect guys are adjusting perfectly to exact stack depths.
I still think AQ > AK as a bluff for OOP since you block calling range better and get AK to fold which is a large number of combos that have you dead
21min on Kx5h3h-4h do you think they will call off with a hand like AhJx for a SDFD? Wondering if we can just XRAI on the turn? 21:18 I almost guessed his hand! I was guessing 86o lol, kinda close!
25:30 I thought you were going to limp call AKo to keep the btn in the pot. I guess if the rec is not a big enough fish to cold call 3bets, then we are not worried about keeping them in the pot. On this J88dd board is it better to have AxKd or AdKx? Then just fold AKo if no diamond?
21:00 - xj the turn with KKhx here is crazy play vs monster whale because even if they might call off naked FDs (I suspect true), when a guy can have ATC here you want to just give them rope when so so often they have 0% equity vs you and willing to be all in OTR. I think its very different vs a super wide more passive rec who will b/c a tonne of naked FDs and pair+fd hands OTT but wont bluff river and is less likely to have random air in general
25:30 - AKo it would be a disaster to limp/call here when we crush the reg's iso range and are sandwiched postflop (meaning we never get to act last, have to fold to regs aggression more than the BU player, have less information than the caller behind etc etc). Yeah, also when the rec player is able to cold call 3Bs then we arent so bothered :D I think in theory AxKd > AdKx because IP will have more NFDs than Khi FDs, in practise vs this guy I think it doesnt really matter since he can probably have any kind of FD
32:00 you mentioned the Td is a good card to have blocking some of the value. This was a 4BP (low frequency) for JTo. I saw another hand in the triton series (image below) where the announcers were saying having a Ten blocking the bluffs heads up is actually bad. We want to unblock the bluffs. So in a wider configuration if this was a SRP, would you want the Td or want to unblock the Td?
Yeah, wider configuration will change things - also without wanting to throw too much shade, depending who is commenting on triton I wouldnt read tooooo much into what theyre saying (with the exception of when guys actually playing the events hop into the booth), theyre mostly there for entertainment purposes and for the more casual viewer.
So, in this narrow 4BP situation Td only blocks value hands (IP wont have offsuit Tx, wont bluff TT). In the hand you posted its less clear if having Tx is good or bad (blocks some value, also blocks some bluffs)
Sorry for so many comments. A lot of interesting hands.
34:30 isn't the flop size too big here going 3.5x for nacho? As you mentioned he isn't polarized to Tx. Then on the turn as well facing the 1.5x shove. Doesn't seem like the best strategy playing a 2 street game rather than 3 street game. Unless he thinks your a fish lol? And just trying to maximize. idk. Made this comment before you said he has tilt issues, which explains a lot.
Yeah I think its just a big misplay from him from a theory pov. Maybe he decided I wouldnt fold a pair vs his line here and tried to make it look like a FD, not sure what he was thinking in game honestly
