Though you were going to be playing every hand- what a nit!
I preferred the pace of this video to your other hh reviews that can feel a little rushed. Also really like the scenario-specific videos you have been making, please continue.
Thanks for the feedback. Interesting you say vids can be a little rushed. That's definitely something to bare in mind. I'm keen to do some scenario based vids again sometime soon.
3:10 38% equity is what the BTN needs, not the original raiser who actually only needs 29.7%. Come on Sam, you're better than this! Your point still makes sense though given that you want him to fold more often versus the bigger sizing.
11:40 Can you analyse the 3-bet jam with 55 a bit more? For example, what range do you think he's isolating the limper? Is he going much wider than his stats suggest? Versus roughly 20% HRC suggests 55 is a marginal fold, so definitely keen to hear your thoughts.
3.10 A little embarassing! Sorry.
11.40 I think there are circumstantial things that together point strongly in the direction of a jam. Firstly the UTG is playing a plainly horrendous strategy and therefore the MP player is highly insentivised to raise with a far wider range of hands than normal in this spot. Secondly his/her stats are already slightly out of line and suggest a looser strategy than optimal. Furthermore, as a general rule of thumb, players with bigger stacks also tend to loosen up. I don't want to be too 'hand-wavey' as to the reasons why, but often a big stack is running a good and this psychology tends the player towards playing more hands and strategically there stack isn't really threatened and they will therefore get involved where they 'shouldn't'. Obviously not very 'GTO' breakdown, but just something I notice from experience.
@42:52 Your strategy had a min raise fold range as well at this stack depth which would have presumably contained some of the hands you were including in the shove range in your model. AQ is probably still a call for that villain but I don't think your model is completely accurate by just removing the top of your overall range.
If we remove the top of our range we certainly cant shove the bottom-range any longer. So not sure how much inpact that has on AQo-AJo but I think with the 2 shorter stacks he should probably fold. The bigger the gap between them the more he should fold.
37:26 Any value in passing up on a +$EV call here to keep the shortie in and therefore allow you to apply a load of pressure to the other players at the table?
My feeling is that A9o is too profitable a call - despite him turning up with better - but we could tighten our range slightly in this spot for the reason you suggest. Particularly if there is a larger gap between the shorty and the rest, the big stack should certainly pass on some marginal calls.

Dont you think we should bet AI anyway even we theoretically we rarely have bluffs but it doesnt matter from exploitative standpoint since we never want to bluff with that tiny sizing and want to bet bigger with out big hands. I mean people dont like to fold tp in mtts!
V gonna show up with tp alot and if they show us AK such a strong Tp hand then our sizing is def not max.
Also OTT I d bet a bit bigger bec one of these guys has most probably a draw if not both and they will call inelastic so 55%pot will gain more ev imo
Beside of that I think this video is very good I like it
thanks :)
Interesting points. Regarding turn bet size I think you're a 110% right. This clear mistake on my part and just something occasionally happens when you turn the nuts!!! Sizing should be bigger.
I disagree about the river though. We have so, so few bluffs. Likely none. Also, anecdotally, we can see that the big blind checked AK in the blinds preflop! This just illustrates how strong a range we are perceived to have by the player pool. At the moment players really feel that you just have aces here a ton. Until that changes and we start showing down some 89 suited we should adjust our bet-sizes accordingly.
It makes sense to bet your sizing OTR for roughly 35%pot but would you also bluff like that ?
I think vs. better opponents this looks strong given pre+postflop action. Not sure how a weak player perceives this, he might just call even more because of the odds he is getting.
Sam,
All your videos are great, but i personally benefit the most from this type of videos, where you show every hand VIPI'd, so please do them once in a while! Many thanks!

nice quick warm up / pre session format for all turbo grinders i think. Perfect one i really like it! Nice KJ limp btw. interesting dynamic. :)
Thanks mate. Definitely turbo vids are not something too many other coaches are offering and seems a nice niche I can fill.
