Regarding the KTs on 27minutes.
Do you think maybe your sizing is too small. Seems unlikely OR is ever folding to the 3bet.
Flop bet is a bit like a hand on your previous video.
I doubt the guy who is all in always has T9s or 98s in their range. So you're behind the all-in player almost always.
The flop cbet is risking 10K to capture the 3.5K sidepot and split the equity of the OR between you and the all-in guy in the main pot. You have little equity in this main pot and increasing it to a little more is probably not increasing the reward part of the equation sufficiently.Increasing you're equity from, say, from 10% to 20% is worth maybe 3K or something (optimistic, i think).
Could maybe do a CREV simulation on this.
Hey. Thanks for the questions. I had a discussion about bet sizing with a friend of mine a few days ago and he was in your camp of wanting to size bigger in a spot like this but I still prefer a smaller 3b for me. Basically he wanted more FE pre but I am pretty happy to take a flop here. I personally like playing postflop in spots where my range is vv strong and theirs is capped. We get to put a lot of pressure on postflop in situations like that so making it slightly smaller preflop and giving them the option to flat is fine IMO. Also against someone who folds a high % of the time to 3bs which this guy did I think quite often they don't really look at what size the bet is. They just see they have been 3b and decide if their hand is good enough to call/raise with.
With regards to postflop in this hand I do get where you are coming from. Its certainly a spot where I will look at in CREV when I have the time. For now my thinking was that when we check here we basically give up the pot unless we hit turn/river since we are never ahead of both ranges. At least if we can get EP player to fold flop or turn we do have some equity in the pot (although as you say maybe risk v reward is not worth it) and since as I said earlier we are playing v a capped range we can make the EP player fold by turn quite often.
Yea I also see where you are coming from. In an exploit sense it definitely makes sense to 3b that small in some situations, just seemed quite non-standard. Definitely vs players who are weak vs 3bets and kind of easy to play postflop I don't mind. Our preflop EV is probably better than for a bigger sizing and we minimize losses vs their 4bets as well.
Solid vid ! I'm kind of in languidlyclinical's camp about the KTs hand. Preflop I'm kind of surprised you didn't make it like 9,3k. I mean his UTG range though it may be wider than some doesn't contain massive amounts of cheese either, I'd think we'd want more FE than this. Also seems you can size it closer to that amount without commiting yourself to the ~35kish stack to your left.
Postflop in the KT hand I think the turn bet is excellent, really like that you left yourself room to fold in a spot where you're supposedly never perceived as folding. Flop, again, I have doubts. I mean sure the shorty will have some weaker hands but in the end we're kind of betting to protect 40% equity in the main pot, at best. Probably less.
Very quick question. Do you worry about your seemingly exploitable 10-15bb shoving range pre? You're min opening all your inducing hands only from that stack.
It's something I've started to emulate since seeing you do it but then I play much lower stakes where being balanced isn't necessary. Thanks for the vids!
Hey.
I do have a r/f range from that stack size also esp once I'm over 13bbs. Under 13bbs I usually just shove my whole range unless I think the right play against the opponents behind me is to min r to induce. Its really situational with stuff like that so I just try and make the most profitable play in whatever situation it is.
Hi, Nice Vid. In the hand with 66, you talked about 99 for like 5 minutes, but didn't mention what you'd do with TT/JJ AQ AQs AJ AJs KQs or KQo. Thoughts?
On the KTs hand, otf you have quite a lot of neat turns, 8 9 T Q K A, are all decent for you. Even that said, I think bet/ bet is a better line then checking otf. Good analysis, I was wondering though how you think opponent would play JT JQ JK JA, you didn't really get into it much.
TT and JJ would be similar to 99 in this spot. JJ might be getting to the point where if you 3b you can get him to put in worse hands like TT and 99 but I still think flat is best. I would probably flat AQ here and fold the others to this sizing until I know more about what this raise sizing means.
In the KT hand its really hard to know how he plays his Jx here. Some people will just ch shove flop. Some will call flop but fold with the A on turn and others just wont be folding at all. We don't really have enough info on him to be able to know how he will play these hands so we just kinda have to make a decision based on the fact that he just called pre so his range in general will not be too strong plus our range is super strong due to our ep 3b pre.

Think I answered most of this in the post above :) thanks for the comments
Love your videos, think this format works well!

Hi Owen! First time i see your videos and i liked a lot.
I have a question, in 7:32 you open A4s MP1, do you also open this in UTG? And what the worse suited connector do you open? Something like T9s+?
Thanks
