In your work of flops similar to AK8 in 3b pots, does it make a huge difference between a .66/.75 size cb and OVB for oop?
I'm finding this flop ovb difficult to use in practice, often creates unclear turn and river decisions.
I am interested in a higher ev strategy than a full range block, but efficiency HU is key
I just tested it and the EV difference is negligible. However, I personally find the overbet strategy quite easy to implement since it requires a low betting volume and the decision taking is pretty straight forward in most turns and rivers.
In any case, you should always look for the strategy that suits you better. If you feel more comfortable playing .66/x and the EV is very similar (like in this case) just go for that!
I think Nuno Alvarez explained PIO strategy really well and enjoyed how you looked at different turns on the A92 (J / Q / K) turns and how the betting frequency changed from 25% to 40% the lower the card got.
Hello Nuno, 18-44 why IP players check behind turn that often with JT? I kinda understand that some of the those reasons come in play:1)protecting from river big bets/shoves 2)blocking calling range (some interactions with x/calling, villain river valuebetting range) But in pracitse I rarely see such sneaky plays, and it kinda make sense to be somewhat straight-forward, as people not as sophisticated.
I think you got the main ideas why IP is interested on checking back JT sometimes OTT here. The EV difference between betting and checking is negligible so I think that we should be mostly basing our decision using exploitative reasons.
In my experience, the OOP player will be heavily overfolding vs the jam raise OTR after the turn checks through. Therefore, I think that pure betting our straights OTT as the IP player should be slightly better on average. However, it really depends on our perceptions of the player pool or our specific opponent's tendencies.

Strong work as usual Nuno.

This video would win award for longest one for this year. (well in fairness it is competing with your march video for 1h10min)
Haha thanks Jeff! I think I like making videos a little bit too much :P

Thank you very much RunItTw1ce! Glad you liked it.
Top stuff!
LOVE those deep analysis you make, and the format of assuming and talking about the spot and than analyze it with PIO
Thank you so much lospollos!
I love doing these and I think this is the format in which I give the most :)

Hey Jeff, good comment.
