I'm afraid you're mistaken. This is actually the lowest EV board you can have in any node vs Berri Sweet who has the 85o at 250% frequency
Other than that great vid, I for one really enjoy the hole cards down live review of top players, gives you a sense of how close you're coming to their in game thought process and lets you farm some new ideas at the same time
1:25 you mention the 2/3 probe is standard. This is just for HU right? I'm used to seeing a lot of 1/3 or 1/4 on flush completing turns in six max.
Definitely a fun match to watch, some of the check raises and 3 bets post flop going on or even the triple check then XR river with JsTh hand on the 9s5sKsTsX board check raising 3rd nuts on 4 flush board makes me feel like a nit for calling in six max haha. I seem to level myself when they use a 50%+ sizing on the river, but then again IP is not supposed to block right because the thin value is not worth reopening the action?
1:25 - I haven't done any 6 max work so I can't say but in HU this is the standard sizing in most scenarios in which we wanna be betting a depolarized betting range. Block probe sizing gets used quite often in HU as well if you allow it but the EV gain is not worth the work IMO.

Yeah, I think you're right. Reopening the action with medium hands is usually a mistake in these scenarios.

I don't know of any situations where PIO bets less than 50% on the river IP as less than that is not enough value to warrant reopening the action.
In my experience it's rare/never happens - the only case I can potentially think of it being the right bet sizing would be in a large pot with very tight ranges and with a 1 card nut hand that regularly chops. For example Ax that makes the nuts with a 1 card broadway. A situation whereby betting 50% feels like it would be -EV due to my opponent having the nuts frequently enough to make it so, and whereby betting any bigger than 1/3 would make it hard to get value due to chopping too often. Also must have very few bluffs left in my range. Still not sure this is a correct play but it's the only time I ever think a sizing less than 50% is warranted.
matlittle wizard has some 36% size on the river that is used off and on. I can't remember the exact line or srp or 3bp off top of my head but 36% is an option on wizard. I'm guessing more of a 2nd / 3rd pair thing where opponent has a lot of ace high in range. Maybe set on 4 flush board? All really thin value spots that are easy to bet + fold or maybe bet to induce.
30 min you mentioned you like how long makeboifin takes to make his decisions and really feels like he is thinking. In Luke's videos if you ever watch them he has these white lines on his time bank to make sure he takes same amount of time to act each time, so he doesn't give away any bluffing / value betting timing tells.
Also Uri in one of his youtube videos mentioned he destroyed a guy heads up picking up a timing tell when he was bluffing. Uri said the other guy was a far better player than he was and the other guy said he knows exactly what URI is doing wrong but can't beat him and doesn't understand why. Ended up just being a timing tell problem.
Here is a link to one of Uri's youtube videos featuring these same guys berri and makeboifin.. Would be nice to see a RIO video like this as well.
Enjoyed the format a lot - it's good to watch the best in the world play and your commentary helped a lot to put it all into context! I watch parts of these matches sometimes, but as I am not a HU player sometimes some of the nuances are lost on me - having an expert HU player explain it really makes it much more interesting! Would definitely be interested in more content like this video. Perhaps just one PIO hand at the end of the most interesting spot in the video if an interesting spot/concept/play arises?

This is an interesting river in fact - I would have also assumed that K was bad for BB and force him to check often, but K gives the BB his highest river betting frequency at around 50% with the 1/3 sizing. He still has Jx and lower suited Kx. BTN calling all Q hi and A hi except for A6 and Q6 which block BB river bluffing range, so plenty of value still to be had for Jx.
I have Q9o as a fold preflop vs 3bet for the BTN, although my ranges are somewhat basic - do you have it as a call ever or just pure fold in your ranges?
8:30 - Yeah this is a really interesting hand. Thanks for the insights. I'd have definitely expect the K to be very good for IP in this line.

I also have it as a pure fold but I believe that it should be reasonably close in a low rake environment.

Hahaha, that legit made me chuckle :)
Thanks a lot for the kind words, glad you liked it.
Nice analysis Nuno, even more considering it's live footage and the time to think and explain every hand is limited!
Thank you amigo! Glad you liked it :)

Yeah I actually watched the video in which Uri talked about the timing tell. I really like his content.
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll see what I can do :)
Sorry for the delay on the answers guys. Christmas break :P

Definitely a good idea, will take it into account for future videos, thanks :)
