Did you have stats on the player in the AQo hand?
You put him on hands like 77-JJ, KQ etc. Why do you think his range is so strong?
The BTN will likely 3-bet those hands vs a CO open. A flat indicates a SC type of hand, rather than a medium to big PP. Especially in the case of a non-regular.

I agree that he doesn't have many 8x that call your squeeze (89s, A8s and maybe T8s), but I definitely disagree he'd bet them on the flop.
Middle pair, medioce kicker with a gutshot blocker is probably the perfect hand to check back here. When I saw it on the screen, my first reaction was ''oh oh, he probably has an 8''.

Btw, you sound like an awesome shit talker, but you're holding back.
Don't hold back, we're all adults. :)

I don't have any stats on this player, and had no idea who he was until liquidsword enlightened me.

I definitely put him on a medium PP or KQ, but its very possible that he could be 3betting TT+ and KJ+ so that leaves 77-99 and medium SCs, 78s-QJs.  I definitely agree that the more non-regular the opponent, the more their range is weighted towards SCs.

I don't know why I kept saying that an 8 would bet the flop in the video.  I mean, it definitely could, but for the most part middle pair in these spots to competent players is usually an auto-check-back.  So when it pairs, we definitely cannot eliminate that from his range...  I still would've played the hand the same way though...

Its true: I do enjoy a little trash talk here and there, but its kinda hard to reach your full potential in an online setting.  If you ever get to play with me live and I'm well rested, you'll probably get the full scope of my yapping :)

Well, what a Boss!  I would make a crack at how tournament players aren't usually great at cash games, but I can't because he did win a nice pot of me and did play the hand very-well/perfectly IMO.  Thx for the heads-up.

Some of the funnier table talk I've had the pleasure of listening to.
