Good vid, lots of interesting spots!

Couple of questions:

- 11:19 AJ vs EP open from weaker player, why didnt you iso 3bet this ?

- 16:49 J9hs on A63. You just cbet all your air here ?
I think i have a leak that i dont cbet enough oop, here the idea is just that villain will fold his KQ,9Ts,TJs,KJs etc w no bddraws and stuff so that cbet is +EV even tough we don't have any turns to barrel ? I guess i should play with flopzilla a little for these spots.

Looking forward to part 6!

AJo, the opponent is playing 28/13 after 140 hands so I think Id rather take lots of cheap flops when he opens 2x UTG

The A63dd board I would def not c-bet all my air as a standard and it shouldnt be profitable to do so if the opponent is defending properly. Ill bet some total air some % of the time, Ill admit my overall strategy is not well defined there and can vary significantly from 1 day to another. Against that specific opponent though I think I can bet more aggressively as he plays somewhat weak postflop.

Hi Raphael,

@3 mins: CO call 3b with AQo vs BB squeeze. Flop = QTTr. Facing a check you say you play a mixed strategy here of betting ~80% and checking 20%. I watched a couple lessons from a mid-stakes pro who discussed analyzing these type of spots in a "GTO program" (like Snowie, for instance) - not necessarily advocating doing so, but making some important distinctions: Snowie will weigh these bet/check percentages but this actually doesn't indicate a mixed strategy - it just hasn't fully edged out which play is better yet (suggesting there is 0 mixed strategy, and always 1 better play). What are your thoughts on this?

Great vid, btw.

Thank you

I've never used snowie or any other other so called "GTO program" so far so I cant really comment on that. What I'm doing is mostly logical reasoning: it seems obvious to me that we need to check back some strong hands in order not to be massively exploited on later streets (and the very few FH combos we have are most probably not enough). And we also quite obviously need to bet some strong hands on flops and go 3-streets with them. I think its very likely a GTO strat plays a mixed strategy for lots of Qx Tx combos, meaning both betting and checking those have the same EV, but which combos and what percentages are up for debate, nobody knows those answers. Probably some Qx or Tx combos get bet or checked 100%, its hard to say for sure and its not too relevant for practical play anyways. I just try to play some core strategy that is not super exploitable, making sure I have strong hands both in my betting and checking ranges.

I have also heard this (that when snowie mixes its just not sure which play is correct, yet). This could be true but from what I know of Snowie if it shows you a mixed strategy it is because currently it thinks the EV of the actions it is mixing are the same, maybe that changes in the future because of how Snowie learns and calculates its EV. But I think it would be pretty hard to say then which ones are "real" mixed strats and which ones it just hasn't sorted out yet. I have decided to let Snowie collect dust fwiw (at least for a while).
