^ agreed verry good vid! keep it up!

Question about this spot:

AK 3b pot oop vs weakerplayer, what do you think about x/c flop w AK/AQ ?
When you do cbet what cards can we barrel ?

Sorry about the long delay before replying, I was on vacations in Tuscany with basically no internet.

Anyways, vs a weaker player after 3-betting oop and flop comes T54ss I would c-bet full range, he will probably overfold and play straightforwardly so I dont think I want to check anything on this low of a board.

Hey np!

Ok then what cards can we barrel, when we got about potsized bet left on turn.
Say turn is J or Q are those good ? and for what betsize could we barrel.
Or just only barrel when we hit our A/K ?

Raphael Cerpedes 10 years, 8 months ago

We should have more than a pot sized bet left on the turn and I would barrel any J Q K or A most of the times for a small sizing, something around half pot.

Ye true potsize turn will be $195 w $228 effective.
But when we then barrel halfpot on J/Q turns rvr pot will be 328 w 128 left, so can we then ever bluff some rivers or just shut down unimproved ?

Sorry maybe little if/if question but im just getting confused in these spots sometimes, not sure if i should try a desperate bluff in that scenario to make them fold their Tx,5x or whatever.

Again its a frequency thing, we should still bluff sometimes but the amount of bluffs we have should decrease with every street. Against a weak player it doesnt matter much and we probably should always give up on total blanks riv.

- 35:31 QQ, what range is good to sqz/call there.

Vs std utg it would be QQ+,AK i guess ?
But
now because nano gets it in so slight we should widen our value range
to include TT,JJ,AQ or how wide can we go vs such a villain ?

- 38.50 AQo in 3b pot OOP villain xb KJ5s.
You said you could bet turn as well, but ended up x/f-ing.
What do you think is the better line ? When we do bet what rvrs can we continue on ?

What do you think his range is for 3betting and xb flop, Jx, weak Kx, TT,QQ ? A5s ?

Or ye maybe x/r turn would bet better than bet bet cause it puts more pressure, we can still have KJs (KJo?) JJ, KQ ? for value

I guess sqz/call QQ+,AK sounds about right vs a preflop shove but I would expect lots of opponent to be 4-betting small from UTG there, against which I would have a 4-bet calling range too, mostly comprised of strong suited broadways and strong pairs. Its hard to say exactly how wide we can go vs such an aggressive opponent, maybe TT+,AQs+ but thats just a guess and he plays quite differently from session to session so there is no perfect answer.

For the AQo hand there is no universal answer as regulars tend to play very different strategies there. Vs that specific opponent I think he rarely has total air, very rarely something strong (ie AK+) except maybe some KK combos and very often weaker Kx, Jx and pairs. Also we have very little fold equity by betting the turn vs him so if you start betting you should bomb it and be willing to bomb or even overshove lots of rivers too but thats a dangerous gameplan as he will frequently call down Jx there. x/r isnt great either as this guy is not folding anything that was valuebetting the turn. Sure we have to bluff sometimes but we should be careful with our frequencies. So overall I think its best to mix bets and checks here but I would never x/r this combo.
