nice video, your hand reviews are way better than your live sessions because of your more likely exploitative strategy, which is harder to explain in dept while playing compared to a GTO-ish strategy.
Hey,
Some really cool thoughts in the vid, tho I do disagree w/ one of those hands - 53 turn analysis:
1. One of your reasons were "this turn brought a lot of draws so he'll be bluffing a lot". Ok, that much I agree, but at the same time with this hand it's actually a bad thing - he now has enough equity to barrel away if we're defending as loose as this.
2. His river barreling frequency is high. I don't see any advantages of that.
3. Turn is overall a great card for his range not only that it brings a lot of decent draws which you can't have but it also gives him way more Qx hands than it does to you.
My 3rd point also makes me disagree w/ your assumption about his range strength w/ his chosen bet size. Why would he want to go big if the turn hits his range more than yours and therefore you're forced to defend uncomfortably wide when he uses a smaller bet size? I mean the bigger size he selects the easier time will you have defending at lower frequency and the range advantage won't matter that much anymore.
What's your thoughts on this?
Also not sure you're aware but you're really going nuts over there with your mouse pointer during the entire vid :D Kinda distracting but it might just be me, dunno.
About the 53 hand:
This is probably the worst hand i would be calling the turn with. That said, it might be better to fold the turn just because more than half of the deck is going to be a better card for his range than ours. The benefit of this hand over let's say pocket 66,77,89 etc is that we dont block any of his draws.
About the sizing: I think when someone has a lot of draws in their range, so he is somewhat polarized, and the fact that my range looks somewhat weak its better to use bigger sizings. Both for more foldequity with their bluffs (lots of rivercards where he can apply pressure to my range using bigger sizings) and more value with his valuehands.
Also i have a lot of pair + straightdraw type of hands that are more comfortable calling vs smaller bets than bigger ones.
I wasnt aware that i am going nuts with my mouse, i probably always do this because i go with my pointer where my focus is and just circle around it.
Ill try to lessen that in future videos. Thans for bringing this to my attention :)
Hey,
Thanks for the reply. I'm still not convinced tho :)

The 66 77 part I get and can't disagree w/o doing more work on it. On the other hand I think 89 is clearly a better calling hand. If we talk about blockers it obviously also blocks his value range as well as has way more equity. Also the bluffs it blocks are generally going to be the stronger ones so I don't mind it that much.

polarized
That's not really the definition of polarised. He can still be vbetting 8x (2nd pair+) in this scenario. That's like the opposite of polarised.

comfortable calling vs smaller bets than bigger ones.
No disagreement here, just a really good point haha.

No, don't stop doing it :P
Funny I was just thinking that your mouse movements follow your brain, and that helps "seeing" what you think sometimes, esp. in spots where I didn't get / or misunderstood your comment. Happened a few times :-)
In the first hand with ATS. I think the cbetter could have a draw heavy range with his 50% cbet. wouldnt most people cbet more in to 3 other players with a strong hand? at least when he has poor position. Might not change it in to a call, because the pusher is less likely to have a draw.
I cannot say if his range consists mostly of draws. I'd say his range is either a strong made hand or a decent to good draw and probably nothing in between.?
And the pusher always has 2 pair or better or a combodraw.

keep it coming plz, ty
Nice vid man, love the logic for some of those hero calls!
Hey Mark,
Nice video so far, but I would like to see more of equilab analysis for river spots, with ur thought´s on the ranges.
Hi Mark.
Great video as always
