Great video. Thanks for covering this. Hu tourney with smaller stack sizes is different than hu cash so it was good to see.

The first hand was interesting. I think icm ranges are so different that it can be hard to make the right adjustments. I think the big shift in post flop is important to understand. It would be cool to see some post flop spots analyzed chip ev vs icm.

33:10 having a call, small 3bet and 3bet jam rng really complicates things. I wonder about just 3betting small and calling vs sb and fold vs the others.

Thanks!

Hi SoundSpeed,

33:10 yes I think this is very practical, because if anything, then people (in general) are being too tight vs small 3bet there compared to vs jam, so I dont think we open ourselves up to getting exploited too much vs most people if we only have a 3betting range and no jams. Some hands benefit in theory from jamming, looking at this range here again for example KQs 3betting small then getting jammed on sucks.

Vs some regs though who I know are very capable of re-exploiting (if that is a word, if not then im sure its clear what i mean anyways) an ICM spot, I would still like to have a jam range with some hands, though mine would still look way different than HRC Beta here.
As I think I mentioned in the video, I really doubt the benefit of jamming so many hands like K5s vs the open here, when comparing this to 3betting them small instead. Because people are as mentioned already too tight mostly in their responses, so exploitatively im convinced its better to 3bet them at different frequencies. Like vs the regs who are good at exploiting there id just be tighter with my 3bet bluffs and call a bit more instead, that way I think I simply exploit them by having a tighter 3bet range and them jamming too much. Then vs amateurs and others who i suspect to be too tight ill just 3bet small all those hands and more that hrc beta suggests here to jam.

NOTE: 40:45 I made a wrong statement here. We called 65o pre in the hu and flop comes 439hh we check, bb bets 1.39 into 4.2bbs, I said "looks like we don't raise anything here we just call". We in fact raise most the time here, only 18% calls.

Besides HU part this video is useless. Im sorry but how can u be elite coach and not know how to run a simple sim, ur sims been run down for 10s max, they are useless, never seen proper run sims where we mix 95s and Kjs lol

hey thanks for pointing that out. I had just started using HRC beta, before that I had only worked with the normal HRC and you never had to run it long like pio etc so I thought it was still the case, since there is this loading bar so when it finishes I thought results are presentable. I did realize it still runs and I by now I did run some sims longer for like an hour, but all that seems to change is the noise of these weird hands like the 95s that you mentioned etc. I mean it makes sense since this one now approximates postflop play I was wondering already how it could be so fast.

I will run the sims much longer in future videos when using this program. Will rerun the sims in the video here and post screenshots over the next coming days when i find the time

I reran both hands from this video, as solverpoker2022 correctly pointed out, the sims did not run long enough, here are the corrected versions:

the QQ spot

The AQo spot

now everything looks much better and there is no weird random noise anymore. The frequencies for our specific hands also changed but the conclusions are still the same. We can still flat the QQ while the main move should be jam. And we should mostly flat the AQo which, while the EV for jamming now is less than 3bet or call, we 3bet/fold 12% of the time here now and do never jam.

Sorry for the sloppiness on my part here. I was simply not aware of the fact that hrc beta sims need to run much longer for accuracy.
