@14:44 I think we both know this is a minus ev call with AQo according to ICM programs, I did a quick run on it and it came up -0.23% with FI;s range being:
88-22,ATs-A2s,AJo-A2o,K9s+,KTo+,Q9s+,QJo,J9s+,T9s (21.57%).
What are your thoughts on this and what kind of strategty/meta game are most HS players implementing atm? ICM is overvalued?
Basically I wanna know if I should make this call you did or if you would fold next time after seing the ICM output.
I think its very close, ICM generally overfolds most of these spots IMO. I also think some of the very loose ICM shoves if people are shoving 80% are losing. ICM is not a bad model but its overly simplistic, the main mistake being at many nodes it turns the gametree into AI/fold spots when I think with a lot of hands raise folding is clearly superior.
I think its quite close here with AQo, I would fold AJo and snap call AQs.
Lucas, thank you for your content. At 18:30, how much does you being 70ish bbb and the overwhelming chip leader play a role in that call? If you were 20-30-40bbb, or not the chip leader, would it still have been a call?
I think its closer but it also depends on stacks for all the other players. In this situation I think all the short stacks are so similar that they can't really be passing up that many plus chip ev spots. I think its a hard question to answer without having exact stacks, but I think if I were one of the shorter stacks I would not be calling off most of my chips with k5s.
Lucas Greenwood Around 36 minute mark, hand with 64o. What do you think about blocking river? Isn't that a play we would consider with 1 or 2 pair hands so the bottom straight could fit in there nicely, to make him unable to xb with one pair hand himself?
I think block is fine but it should be pretty low frequency, BU should bluff the turn with 4x pretty often and the only straights I can rly have are 64 and 54, considering im x/c turn with any 7 and quite a few 6x hands I'm close to pure check with range.

Makes sense. Thank you
